Dante Steps Into the Demon World

Still dunno about new Dante.

I'm more sceptical about new Vergil.

Other than Dante's voice actor, everything seems fine to me.

What!? What happened to Vergil 0_0 Maybe something happens that changes him later on?

The more I see of this game the more I'm liking it. And Vergil is no exception! He looks like he'll make for a great villain, with this freedom fighter 'anything for the greater good' sort of arc that'll inevitably lead him to facing off against Dante. It's no Shakespeare, but it'll make for both a better and more fleshed out character motivation than ''deh, open demon portal for power''.

Plus new Vergil's character design is bitchin'.

Seems like demon hunting is a pretty stressful job. Vergil's hair has gone completely white, while Dante is getting a bit of salt and pepper going on.

I'm kinda into the new direction.

Man, naming two brothers "Dante" and "Vergil" is such a Japan move.

I wasn't digging the previous 2 games, but this one is looking better and better. If anything, the unnecessary hate for it makes me want to play it more.

I'm excited to play this even with the new direction they're going.

I'm not a Devil May Cry fanboy nor have I ever played DMC, but the more I see of this I keep thinking this looks badass and I'm loving it. In terms of character design (physical appearance alone) this new Dante looks a lot cooler than the old Dante and the voice actor perfectly matches the look and gives the new Dante this kind of swagger.

Again, I haven't played any DMC prior and nothing in those games really interest me to go back and play them. There's just something about this one that seems like its going to be awesome.

Can't we just get to the part where Vergil turns on Dante and they fight at the end?

I'm stoked. I played DMC4 and just got sick of it, but this game looks WAAAYYYY better to me.

This is going to sound like a total copy of somebody else's comment, but I've never played or been remotely interested in a Devil May Cry game before, but upon clicking on this out of sheer boredom I really liked what I saw. Dante seems to be walking the delicate line between real emotional human and total badass without slipping into JRPG emo or gruff hollywood roid machine. Good delivery by the voice actor. The aesthetic and setting are cool, but Virgil is kinda meh for me.

I was not expecting Vergil to be in this.

Never been interested in DMC.

The new Dante looks like an asshole. A believable asshole.

I like it.

This looks awesome. I am really digging the look of this reboot and I'm a long time fan of the DMC games. The combat has always been great but Dante stopped being cool in DMC4, Nero was much better as a character. They just made Dante annoying as opposed to badass like in DMC1. Is anyone else getting a Tyler Durden vibe from new Dante? Very cool.

I am a huge fan of Devil May Cry and have been since that first game first released around ten years ago. DmC looks awesome and I honestly can't wait to play it. Still not a huge fan of the new character designs, but it's mainly their douchey haircuts, so whatever. It's too bad that there are still so many hardcore DMC fans who are unwilling to give Ninja Theory a chance.

Unless there are some extremely negative reviews out the gate, I plan on buying this launch day.

As someone who's never really been interested in any DMC game, this reboot seems pretty cool from what's been shown so far. I'd give this game a try.

I really liked DMC4. It's my second favourite behind DMC3.

Cool, now we have Donte AND Vorgil, both sons of Sporda.

I miss junkie Dante. This Paul Walker-esque pretty boy is just boring looking. Luckily the voice work elevates him somewhat, but it would've been a far cooler contrast to have his "twin" show up and there be some sense of their wildly separate paths - which I can only assume was what they were originally going for with Dante's worn, effed up face.

But hey, he's generic attractive Dante now. Luckily fan feedback shoots down anything TOO interesting.

@SimonM7: Yeah I thought that was kinda disappointing as well. I am overall really curious as to how the ideas for this game came together, where, why and how they decided to reel it in and whatnot. With a bit of luck we might learn more about this after the game launches.

NT Dante has always had that pretty boy face of his. It's true, the announcement trailer shown him in a pretty messy state, but it also shown him looking just like he does now when he was butting out a cig on a demon's head. His face does look a little... leaner in the announcement trailer, but otherwise he mostly looks the same.

I imagine Dante getting himself battered, bloodied and malnourished will still play a part in the story anyway, maybe as a part of a prologue or something.

Ninja Theory's face tech is still impressive. I'm still not a fan of the Dante redesign, but everything else in this trailer looked really good.

This trailer is awesome, the new Dante and Virgil both look and sound awesome, and this game looks awesome. Seriously, I'm so sick of all these "Emo Dante" comments.

That's some awful dialogue they got going there.

yay! virgil is back! hopefully you can play as him i loved playing as him in 3. hell i'm just excited about this game period.

I think that was more in reference to the classic "sacrifice the big picture for the girl" plot going on.

It's still not what I'd consider a spoiler, though. It's more of a story premise, it's apart of the promotional material and again, if that is what he considers to be a spoiler then it's his own fault for watching the trailer in the first place.

You take any game that has a very distinct feel and completely overhaul it to the point where it's barely identifiable and see how any community takes it. No lock on, two dodge buttons, stance options, a dedicated launcher button, new slightly weird floaty enemy juggle physics, ridiculously simplified, horribly long aerial combos along with a lot of animations (Especially Rain Storm and the new Eryx gauntlets) that are ugly as sin and cumbersome and a major tone shift that tries to be edgy but just comes off throwing expletives recklessly for it.

You may as well take Unreal Tournament and make it into a Call of Duty game for how much of a gameplay departure it's taking.

More than you realize. There were lots of fun things you could do with Lucifer, Nero's summoned swords and some of the more interesting momentum quirks:

@Yummylee: I agree that it's not a huge deal, but it seems more like a plot point (and probably late in the game too) than the premise, hence, spoiler. I guess it's just not a huge deal to me because I've only recently gotten the least bit interested in this game, but if I was a big DMC fan, I'd probably think that was revealing too much. I feel like I can tell you how most of the game plays out now, after watching this trailer.
