I'm really happy to see some snowy environments will be coming up. For some reason the pre-release marketing had me expecting there to be a frigid mountain environment in Dark Souls II, and I was left disappointed in that respect.

I am not one of the people that is going to act negatively about this news without knowing more about what the DLC will contain. If we get a new arena that matches people up based on their Soul Level I will be very happy. I would also like to see more lore connecting DS2 to DS1.

I really wish I hadn't moved on to New Game Plus with my main save now, because I want to play this DLC but have no desire to replay the rest of the game to get around to it.

Yeah, from an aesthetic standpoint the Painted World was one of my favorite zones of the first game and I found myself wishing for an area like that in DS2.

I'm surprised they have DLC coming only 4 months after the game came out, and 3 months in a row, I hope this wasn't held back from the main game to be released like this. On one hand Artorius is probably my favourite bit of DLC ever, but I paid a lot to get this game and paying another who knows how much to have the complete package kind of sucks.

You don't have to look far to find people with misgivings about the core game and how it handled certain things (such as the world continuity), but I don't know that I have yet seen a single person complain that there was a lack of content. The idea that this announcement somehow uncovers the plot that they culled content and fractured a complete game in order to sell it to you later is far too cynical for me to entertain.

Also, this is the video game industry. Of course they are trying to make their fucking money, along with 99% of everyone else making games. That doesn't somehow mandate that everyone trying to make money is going for a shameless cash grab. The Artorias DLC is probably my favorite content expansion of all time, and I am very pleasantly surprised with this announcement. They haven't given me any reason to be cynical about this, and I'm super fucking excited for the release of these.

What do you mean? How does NG+ prevent you from accessing the DLC? Have they even talked about how to access the DLC?

A couple things I could see: if the process for accessing the DLC is anything like it was with Artorias(I sure hope not), you might need to have progressed passed a certain point to open it (such as needing the King's ring or something).

Also, running through areas for the first time is always the most difficult, because you are super unfamiliar and leave yourself vulnerable from sheer ignorance. I can imagine that encountering all this stuff for the very first time with the added difficulty spike of NG+ being a bit overwhelming for some people.

If it's season pass, that mean, I will get a season pass, but only start playing it when all 3 DLCs already released.

I've been burned too many times on season passes. I'll check this out on a per basis.

I'm going to have to level up another character though, as my current is in NG+++ and that's probably not how I want to check out the DLC.

Hope they handle it as well as they did the Abyss DLC in the first Dark Souls.

They forced it to be post anor-londo in the first game so that if you went to the DLC, you had the option of leaving if you found it too hard. There's no such need to do that here.

Also, I find the people lamenting the existence of this DLC as a sign of the end-times for FROM software as so laughable I'm just not even going to give them the time of day. DkS2 was f*cking excellent. More is no bad thing, especially when it comes out 3 full months after the original launch. This is hardly a cash grab.

I imagine it's unfinished stuff from the game that they've had time to finish, like "Prepare to Die" content.
I love Dark Souls but I don't know if I care that much.

When I thought it couldn't get any worse, they add triple poison statues. This will be fun.
