Darksiders II Has Loot, Skill Trees, and Ample Quantities of Hot Bladed Death

Psyched, pumped, and amped for this game. Hoping you can max out both skill trees with enough grinding.

Loved the first Darksiders and this one looks to expand on that, the loot element seems a great addition cant wait for the release.

You gotta feed your possessed weapons.

Darksiders was fantastic, but this just looks fucking awesome. Can't wait.

Darksiders was probably my favorite new IP of this generation. I hope 2 lives up to it's potential and exceeds it's predecessor.

Too lazy to search, but there's a thread on the official forums, various interviews and such where the devs talk about this. In short, they added a New Game+ mode that carries over all of your character progress; it sounds like it was designed from the start with a second playthrough in mind, for those who want to get deep into it and max everything :O)

Darksiders 3 will be an MMO and Darksiders 4 will be the expansion pack to that MMO.

I hope the loot is good; I'm a fan of visual diversity, but all too often you end up with identical looking characters anyway because some loot is clearly better than others. They should make ALL loot meaningful.

Game looks frickin' sweet also. Joe Mad's art style is fantastic - so much better than countless "realistic" looking games. I'd love to see Batman or Superman games that looked like Jim Lee's stuff. Comic Art, when done effectively in 3D, looks FANTASTIC.

Why are people interested in True Crime 3? It's looking exactly like the other games did before launch: promising way too much that seems way out-of-whack considering what they've shown. You will be disappointed if you expect anything else.

Wait, loot and leveling up? Great, I will now play this. Didn't care about Darksiders one - it sort of bored me - but I'll check this out for sure.

August 14th...Damn! That's pretty soon. After that, games releases are starting to come back in full force. Can't wait.

First this then Fall of Cybertron, August gonna be awesome.

Really excited for this game, but I'm praying they take the time to make sure the PC version isn't as busted this time around.

Darksiders was great with a few caveats. I don't think making it more of an RPG will fix those issues, but it certainly makes me excited for the sequel.

And they said there was no blocking in the game... 2:20 dafuq is that? I hope it's a parry. Blocking is for pussies and parry(block counter) is for champs.

I actually thought the ending was fine as it was. Everything you done in the first game was finished and now War was free to fight on his own terms.. with backup. What's going to happen next pretty much speaks for itself.

And for the record, Darksiders 2 isn't a continuation, it takes place before/during the events of the first. You'll be waiting a bit longer to see a game where all four of them come together, which is kind of a shame, but the Avengers style build up is pretty awesome.

Ah! Thanks man, didnt know that. Should be interesting to see how they explain that. I kinda thought The Horsemen was in a kinda "Limbo" untill they were called.

Yeah that is a bit of a shame. But im with you, still mega pumped for it!

I really like how these guys present themselves. Not too grandiose and ambitious, they talk about the game like they know it's a videogame rather than some world-redefining experience.

Darksiders never really felt like the sort of game that necessarily needs more RPG elements, but it is the developers' original vision. The first game was such an effortless mix of different elements that I'm confident they can throw in even more variety and make it work.

A game made for gamers by gamers. Well OK then, now I get it...hurdur.

I'm oddly excited for the game, even though I never finished the first one. I've recently gone back and started Darksiders again in hopes of finishing it prior to the sequel's release. I have to say that the original is a slow starter. The arena fights are a bit of a drag, but the art and voice work is good. I'm sticking with it in hopes that it picks up once I unlock some more abilities.

@FunExplosions: It was never a True Crime game. It was intended as an original IP but Activision stuck the True Crime name on it in a hopes of better sales but then we all know what happened there.

I'm really looking forward to this. I bought DS ages ago on Steam but never got around to playing it until Jeff and Patrick were talking about it and got me more interested in the game. Hopefully DS 2 will have a much grander world than the first. It felt like they wanted to have this huge, open world much like Zelda but it was actually quite small.

Looks like it'll be definitely better than the first one. I ended up getting pretty bored with the first game.

Looks like they're doing some cool things with this one and I heard so much positive praise about the first, but I just can't get in to the art style of this series. Maybe too much action for me too.. Glad it exists though.

Played through and finished Darksiders about 2 months ago. I'm so stoked for this one. I really hope it'll save THQ's ass as well.

The first game was great and it sounds like they're moving it in the right direction with the sequel.
