Devil May Cry Exits Limbo

I don't like the character design (Though this is a BIG BIG UPGRADE), but everything else looks cool. Crazy hell carnival is pretty cool.

I'm still not sure what to think about this game. The original games were never my thing, but this doesn't really do it for me either. I'll probably give it a shot anyways, I do have a soft spot for Ninja Theory.

Fuck you how was it silly , What defines a reboot is not hard to understand there have been plenty of reboots of movies go look at one of those and maybe you will get the idea, you may keep some familiar aspects like for instance the name of the main character still being Dante and the combat style of using a sword and guns but mostly everything else is new that is what a reboot is.

I think this is what we need to see more of, Dante being Dante with his kick-ass personality. Loved this trailer.

Yep, looks hella dmc. Ridiculous and over the top settings and cutscenes as well as fluid sword and gunplay confirmed.

This character redesign isn't nearly as bad as the Bionic Commando reboot.

When the news guy made the comment about being a sexual deviant, I thought to myself that he's resorted to fucking pizza. The pizza covering his crotch made me laugh really hard.

This is already looking more interesting than the last couple DMC titles combined.

I'm now anticipating this.

indeed he does but i think that was mostly to ease the hatred and moaning from the DMC fan base on the ninja theory forums and else where it was kinda getting out of hand at one point and with it being a Devil trigger style thing the white hair etc could be explained away without it some how needing to have any links to the previous games, I'm glad Ninja theory stuck to their guns though and didn't change their idea for the new Dante it wouldn't really be a true reboot other wise.

You know, I think this looks great. The limbo world warping looks amazing. Shame they had to use the devil may cry name. This could stand alone as a new IP. Obviously the name lends weight and guarantee's an audience.

Team Ninja have always impressed me. I still enjoy heavenly sword and Enslaved was good fun. This game might finally get them a solid hit.

And he has some parental issues? Seems like standard fantasy teenage angst stuff, not that that's a bad thing. Only thing that bothered me was the music.

Diggin' the style and I'm okay with the character design. I mean, it doesn't look like Dante but at this point it isn't going to change. Seemed like they were channeling DMC4 Dante with the slow-mo dressing scene which is totally fine with me since DMC4 Dante was my favourite one. He was so over the top in that one.

The video is full on cheese, but I think we all keep forgetting its a game and its supposed to be fun.

It made me smile and could honestly see myself having a lot of fun with this. As long as its not wave after wave of generic enemies :)

Not really. A reboot is making a fresh start in an old universe. So keeping the exact same character isn't much of a reboot, it'd just be stuck in some weird half sequel limbo that wouldn't make much sense from a cannon point of view.

exactly! Just like when Ubisoft tried rebooting the Prince of Persia series in 2008 with a new look and new character design. Why is everyone complaining about him not having white hair? I am surprised & relieved to see so much positiveness about the new trailer, it seems like they balanced what people loved about DMC3 and added the new design aesthetic. Cheers.

Some people also seem to be forgetting how insanely cheesy the previous games were. There's nothing in this video that is out of place for the franchise.

I didn't like Heavenly Sword very much at all. Enslaved shined in every aspect except for it's gameplay which was just okay. 
 
I'm really routing for Ninja Theory on this one.  If they can improve their gameplay development skills to match their already super-high production skills this game could be a grand-slam.

I don't know about anyone else, but I'm getting a huge late 90s vibe from the look of this game. I feel like I should be able to see the harness strings sprouting from Dante. And then for whatever reasons involve a ton of scenes with dancing 20 somethings in alleys and raves awash in black light neon paint. And Mr. Freeze has his clothing and vehicles designed by, what one can only assume, was the owner of a defunct Chinese buffet with a ton of neon tube signage to spare. So, I guess what I'm saying is, "Good work, Ninja Theory!" I almost just want to see this game more than I want to play it. One tiny word of advice though? Less dark wash, tight fitting jeans, and more banana yellow Jncos. Just a suggestion...

I don't get why people say this isn't a proper DMC game. It has everything gameplay wise that previous DMC games had and Dante is still as cocky as he ever was. The only difference is in the aesthetics.

Never cared much for the original DMC series but this got my interest. Keeping a watch on this game's progress.

So the game looks like someone who loved playing DMC series while taking breaks by watching Twilight, great. Guessing with Capcom's latest moves that there will probably be another version put out a year later with the original Dante from the DMC series as well as unlockable Nero or other characters from the series instead of the teenage main character. Wasn't finding too much fun playing the other Ninja Theory games at a friend's place so guessing that this might be the same.

I'm into it. Like Devil May Cry games and Ninja Theory games. Hope it all comes together well.

They've sure prettied him up since that announcement trailer, almost too much, I don't think I would have minded if the game was a bit grittier. It was a fun trailer though.

Also, I'm either hearing things or that demon called him "son of sparda" which I appreciate. I'm curious what, if any, other story elements will carry over to the reboot.

I wasn't really lookin forward to this game, but this week I've bin going back to the survival mode of DMC4 and omg, I think I'm gonna have to buy whatever Devil May Cry game comes out. What those games do with the enemy behavoirs and boss designs and the deliberately chosen ways you can attack and the animation stuff is all as smart and well made as it gets. Every enemy's unique and every movement counts, I hope Ninja Theory get it.

I thought the animation on that fake Bill O'Reily was funny, how cocky and bouncy he was. Like everything he says is smarmy chuckle, that was good. Pretty weird to hear the word "terrorist" in a Devil May Cry game.

Pretty weird that Dante is an actual believable cock now instead of an 80's cartoonish charicature of a cock... I understand this party's still gettin crazy- but is it the bad kind of crazy? Is it the bad kind of party? Will it be hilariously corny in a whole new way? I hope so, cos now I'm gettin it!

DMC4 is the greatest, fuckin whatever. Flying sword enemies that exist just to be thrown at bigger enemies.
