I just picked up Dirt 3 Complete Edition and this makes me pumped. Hopefully it's like Grid's Destruction Derby track.

Never not Boosting.

Can't wait for the new WRC game now.

So this is my confirmation that they slapped a layer of "extreme" on Grid and are releasing it as a new game.

A lot of those tracks look awfully familiar. I don't know if it's just reused assets or if they've just dropped whole levels in there. Either way, I have no interest in this title.

Looks insane. Just the way I like it.

Although this "May 2012" release date they have on the Codemasters website doesn't seem too realistic with how little they've show off the game, but maybe they like secrets IDK.

Kind of surprised this is a retail game.

I really like the RGB split effect but I don't think this is what people come for when they envision DIRT

Wow May 2012? Thats a whole lot sooner than I thought.

I am sure this will be fun but I think I will wait for it to be on a steam sale before buying it. I just hope that they use this to spinoff the "xxxtreme xgames" vibe that have infected the last two Dirt games so that the main franchise can get focused back on to straight up point to point rally racing which has always been best part of the series

These games are so good.

I came here for some Rusko BOOST. Why is there no dubstep in this trailer? I thought that was a requirement for all video game trailers nowadays...

yuck.  Take the less appealing aspects of Dirt and jam them all into their own game.  :(
 
HOWEVER, if this means the main line Dirt series goes back to a stronger rally focus and away from the xtremezezez I am all for it. 

man, i can't wait for next gen consoles and graphics. everything suddenly looks kinda meh.

I could be wrong but isn't this suppose to be an xbox/psn arcade game? In some places, I see pre-orders for $59.99.

I've liked all the other DiRT games a whole lot, so high hopes for this, even if it is doing something a bit different.

The "music" reminded me of a Sonic the Hedgehog intro. Game looks Dirty

I loved the Rally portions of the past DiRT games a lot more than the race events so I'm not sure if I'll pick this one up right away but it looks like fun and doesn't look too slapped together.

They really don't seem to know how to get a good balance in their presentation, huh? Dirt2 went too "American" for a lot of people, Dirt3 went way (and I mean WAY) too "European" and with this one they're swinging the pendulum all the way back to 'Murrica it seems.

Loved the Gameplay of all of them but even as a European, I'd much rather have them go a little too "American" than what they did with the last one. Horrible music, horrible menu, horrible voices. And no, I don't want to upload that to YouTube, STOP TELLING ME THAT AFTER EVERY RACE.

Looks like a slow Flatout(1,2) game. Not too bad and since Flatout 3 is abysmally bad, I might give this game a try.

Still, I'd love to have a "true" Rally game again at some point, Codemasters.

Call me Crazy but I want Dirt 2 : 2 I actually like that whole X-Games vibe that game has.

This looks like an awesome $20 DLC expansion to DiRT3.

I really like the crazy variety of cars in that video.

I thought it was a downloadable game as well for some reason, but now that I think about it, that makes no sense because there's no way they could fit a Dirt game within the XBLA size restrictions.

Never gonna happen.... nobody gives a damn about 'pure' rallying anymore.... The Official World Rally is struggling to attract manufacturers & teams, and they can't get it on TV for trying...

Sadly it's now all about a talentless millionaire called Ken Block and dumbed down versions of the Rallycross sport at glitzy nonsense like X-Games... That's where the sponsorship money is... and that's what kind of games the kidz wanna buy

Yet another uninventive Dirt game now (strangely) with non-stop chemtrail-action??!!

Count me out. Loved the first Dirt, along with the incredibly original and *highly* underrated Fuel, but this looks blatantly awful (for too many reasons worth listing).

Something about the visuals looks really plain. The lightbloom and lens flares look great, but the actual lighting system seems very... bare?
 
I do appreciate them going back to DiRT 2's style, though. DiRT 3 weirded me out.

When will I get Grid 2?

And why is this game not for pre order on Amazon?

Fuel > Dirt 2 & 3? I don't know what to say.

@Zaxex: Trust me, I'm used to that reaction. Fuel needed a TON of additional attention/polishing/fixing that it never got, mostly because it sold so terribly. I wouldn't dare attempt to convince somebody it's better than those two games (although I'd take Fuel over those two any day personally).

But in terms the very original style Fuel presented its content along with the sheer scope of play area, I found it extremely refreshing (whereas Dirt 2 and 3, I found about as refreshing as a tour of a sewage treatment plant).

@Uberdubie: I think the original Dirt was, at that time my favourite racing game. I was pessimistic with the sequels, and certainly some of their exterior elements don't interest me, but the actual racing I think is really solid.

I prefer the series over Need for Speed etcetera for what are probably some of the same reasons as you, though you seem to be a bit more particular. Still, Dirt 1's great.
