Do You Like Mario Kart? Then Here Is Some More Mario Kart 8

I am 4 months late to this comment, but yeah, that wasn't in Double Dash. They brought it back in Wii. But from the trailer that came out yesterday, it looks like it's back in 8 again, but without the ability to pick up other items while you currently have an item trailing.

@orange_pork: I imagine shell trailing with the analog stick still works. Or did they take that out of Double Dash? I seem to recall it being in there.

Kind hard to notice, but they changed the way items work in this trailer from the way they were in the E3 demo. Now instead of holding the item button to trail an item behind you and then release to fire, your character holds the item in his/her hand like Double Dash. So they probably got rid of item trailing again.

That said... I'm a bit overwhelmed by the quirkiness of everything.

Mario Kart Wii looked like crap to me, but I'm really digging the look of this.

Looks fun, I liked the last one on 3DS.

Please tell me that the racing toward the camera thing is just for the trailer, cause that ish NEVER works. Also, Waluigi is fucking bullshit.

I was disappointed when Mario Kart for Wii was old tracks revisited and pretty much more of the same game. This looks like a really nice and fresh look on the game concept. I'm buying this when it comes out if the game play is just as good as the trailers.

Not to sound like a cock but it sort of looks... Ok? Maybe they made concessions to keep the frame rate smooth but the edges little kind jaggy.

I think that speaks more to how boring Mario Kart is as a game series than anything else.

graphically the game is really pretty. makes me feel like getting a wiiu instead of ps or xb

This'd make me buy the WiiU -if- I had any friends left to play it with.

And I have to say it looks amazing!

I think that must be the case, because this is the most exciting Mario Kart has looked in a very long time.

Show me something different and I'll consider buying a new Kart.

Is it weird for me to complain that the kart engines, sound really weak. I'm sure it'll play fine, but man, those engines just sound terrible.

When I saw a screen grab from the video I thought it was a 3DS game...

Racing on a airport runway get's you a 3 star wanted level and a swat chopper shooting at you.

Hmm... Nintendo is starting to give me more reasons to purchase a Wii U. Still saving up for a gaming PC so it might be a while before I get one. Unless a new Metroid game comes out then I might change my gaming priorities.

Maybe I'm just getting older and crotchety, but this looks super boring for a Mario Kart game.
