Giant Bombcast 05/05/2015
$35 for new and current members!
Mortal Kombat X moves forward with a snappier version of the previous game's fighting and some cool new characters, but the story and other features around the edges feel a bit rough in spots.
The ways that Axiom Verge resembles Metroid help set up and drive home the ways that Axiom Verge is most definitely not Metroid.
Hotline Miami's thrillingly brutal gameplay is stretched to the point of breaking in this aesthetically pleasing, but otherwise disappointing sequel.

interesting... is the game that easy so you can stay full health through the game?
Sadly, as of today, this has only been confirmed as a boxed retail release in Europe. No Steam, nowhere but EU. I hope that changes because the additions they're making sound like they will really round out the Hard Reset package nicely.
yes nice ..but what is it exactly? :)
new levels? changes? worldwide nudity patch?
It's nice that those ex-CD projekt guys keep the tradition from their old studio as it seems.
Hrrm... I'd like to hope that this will be a free update to existing owners. I think The Witcher did something similar.
So, Xbox 360 version? Please?
I would really like to know if there was a way I could add this content into the game I already bought from them. It's alright with me if they want me to pay for it, but I don't really want to pay for it all over again. =/
@elwillow: Not at all, even on normal its quite a challenging shooter. I've been playing through on insane and its practically a survival horror title, scrambling for every shred of ammo and health I can find.
Unless they add the ability to save whenever you want I ain't touching this again. Shame though the game looks great, but the checkpoint system it has is garbage and totally ruins the experience.

"The full game now comes with an additional four new creature types, a new boss monster, five new levels that sicks up three extra hours of play, and two additional survival mode levels. They’ve also prettied up the engine."

Honestly, I never actually had an issue with the checkpointing. If you must, I believe you can actually open up the console and save manually.
Also, I can't wait for this. I just hope it's released as DLC somehow =|
i played the demo and really liked the style, is it any good?
I've played like 30 mins of this during the holiday so I have to ask is it worth it to actually finish the game? Whether it be for narrative Purposes or the game just becomes more fun. What do you say Duders?
There's barely any story in the game, but I found the game to be incredibly fun. The combat was just so satisfying. Hard Reset was definitely one of my favorite games of last year, if you found the first half hour fun or interesting at all, I'd strongly recommend finishing it. It gets pretty neat once you get a lot of upgrades.
So long as they give us a way to buy the added content or get it for free I will be happy, but I would not re-buy the game for the added stuff.
I played a couple hours of this game last year before getting distracted, but I really enjoyed what I played. Game really nails the future noir Blade Runner-esque vibe with its environments.
Oh so this is where the rest of the game was, I was wondering considering it only took me 5 hours to beat it.
I never really got into this game. It has the simple shooting mechanics of the past and the extremely linear paths of the present. Nothing about it was interesting to me.
For a buyer of the original Hard Reset, this feels like a kick in the teeth. I was hoping they'd atleast be working on a console port, even if it's only for Xbox 360, with the extended version of Hard Reset.
This was amazing.
I remember thinking this game looked like a ton of fun when they did a Quick Look of it. Too bad it's only on PC, I'll probably never get to play it.
Mr. Resetti is gonna be pissed about this hard reset.
@BeachThunder: Well ill be damned, you can do that from the console after all, you sir just made my day!
An Xbox version would be nice.
Wow, they sure did sharpen up the visuals quite a bit from what I can remember of watching the quick look. Not that it looked bad then by any means, but still very impressive.
I am an unabashed fan of Hard Reset, but I am confused here. If this is the extended version, I would enjoy buying the material I don't have..but re-buy the whole game? Ehhhh that sounds almost like those hustles I hear about in some fighting games.... I did read the comment about them saying unnofficially that what I would want could be the case, posted here in the comments. That would be excellent. Wait and see..did like the music it was coupled with in the trailer.
So do I have to re-buy the game now? Cause, fuck that shit.
Oh, awesome, I totally forgot about this game but it looks cool. I might actually check this out, looks like good material for an LP.
If they've optimised the engine further as well as making it prettier, I'd be interested.
I had inexplicable FPS drops whenever I fired any of my guns. Everything exploding around me, multiple light sources moving and physics going crazy? 40 FPS at max settings. Fire my basic machine gun? Muzzle flash alone drops it to 24 FPS.
Really distracting which is a shame as I did enjoy the first few levels before the performance issues made me stop.
