DuckTales: Remastered Takes You Deep Into the Earth

Like most people I was a little put off by Scrooge sounding a tired in the game. Well apparently it's the original voice actor and he is 94 years old! Perhaps we can give them a free pass on this minor criticism.

@wirelesspillow: I'm with you, I do think Disney should start re-running it more often... It would make a little sense for me with this remake coming out.

@hermes: Interesting I didn't know Donal Duck and Scrooge McDuck were so popular in Norway. I actually always did prefer Donald over Mickey. For the US maybe its because I don't live near the theme parks but I feel like there characters have been losing popularity over here.

Scrooge McDuck only buys blood diamonds.

They were in the TV show, episode was called Earth Quack (heh-heh)

@wirelesspillow: Same here, and I still read Donald and Scrooge stories. The Norwegian intro to the series wasn't all that, but translations rarely are.

Is there co-op in this?

Kids these days should get their asses in gear and watch Duck Tales. The show surprisingly holds up super well.

Already preordered with the PLAY thing, can't wait.

@agentboolen: Depends where you are from, I was raised in Norway and as such Donald Duck and Scrooge McDuck are very important to me.

There is a new Donald Duck Magazine every week in Norway, as well as Pocketbooks and other Magazines regularly.

@badnews agreed 100%. Kaufman did great work on MSF, and his soundtrack for Double Dragon Neon is awesome as well. I was jazzed about the remake of DuckTales when they announced it, and when they announced he was doing the soundtrack, I told them to shut up and take my money.

@benderunit22: Totally hyped about the music. Jake Kaufman is working on the soundtrack and his work on Mighty Switch Force was amazing. First time I heard a chiptune turn from super hyper happy and cheerful to really heavy pixelated dubstep. Might have been game specific but the guy is a genius.

I had Ducktales on the original Gameboy down top a science. I think i was able to complete it in like 10 minutes or something. I freaking loved that game...young me was a beast at memorising things. Older me...not so much.

I think, a Encyclopedia Bombastica for DuckTales is in order. The music alone is worth it.

I was pretty happy to hear about the remake before, but I gotta say the new footage is looking even better. I'm really glad they've gone back to the sprites rather than the more 3Dish look from earlier videos.

If they got rid of the 3D altogether it would be even better, but I'll bet someone higher up thinks that 'remastering' means using polygons'n'shit for the kids.

@agentboolen: The original game at the time was not only a relevant property vehicle, but an honestly good game. Easily among Capcom's classics and one of the best TV to videogames adaptations to date...

I don't know who made the decision to remake it but, based on the cases of Darkstalkers and Dungeons & Dragons, it seems like Capcom is gauging interest in them revisit old, beloved properties based on the sales of (relatively cheaper) remakes.

Yea I had a NES and even played Duck Tales way back in yester year. I'm just saying after all the NES remakes were know on Duck Tales?! I just feel like there are more deserving NES games that deserve a HD Remake over Duck Tales. How about Capcom HD Remakes Mega Man 2, or Ghost and Goblins. I mean look at this list Capcom NES games

Whats next Who Framed Roger Rabbit lol. Sure I know its just because Capcom's working with Disney again, but really this is what were getting excited over these days.

Dat music, holy shit, nostalgia overload

Very strange that they even made this remake. Back in the 90's they had that Duck Tales show so that explained why a video game was made... No a days I never see Duck Tales on tv and I don't even think kids these days know who Scrooge Mc Duck is.... I just can't figure out why Capcom and DIsney would go through with it, its blowing my mind.

Scientifically accurate Duck Tales, Oo-oo!

Still not sure how I feel about the look of the cartoony 2D sprites in a semi realistic 3D polygonal world. WayForward are great at doing purely 2D games, wonder why they didn't go with that this time. Oh well, this and Castle of Illusion are shaping up to be quite the cool retro revival though.
