YES. Giving the player the option to do stupid shit and making the main character question his own sanity for the stuff he is forced to do by the player is just ... I love it. No matter how DN4-ever turns out quality wise, I love all the people behind it, because they keep on making the game world seem interactive, something few games seem to do nowadays.

This would have been in the original Duke 3D if they could have done it at the time. It's 3D Realms being 3D Realms.
 
I hope to see an achievement for picking up a turd in the game (not this pre-game intro of it) and taking it to the end, throwing it in the face of the last boss or something like that.

The staff talked about this on a podcast some weeks ago. As for it being a joke or actually included, I won't say it's screwed up for you. Maybe it was all a joke, but I don't think so. 
 
If it's messing up an australian release, boy it better be a matter of principle on both sides.
