Severely Disproportioned Warriors: The Game

I love this concept of a game, reminds me of certain old Capcom arcade romps.

Well, besides from the INSANE PROPORTIONS,

and look at that toothpick sword on the grotesque tumor of a warrior D:

Vanilla done did it again. I love T&A as much as the next dude, but what the Amazon and Sorceress are rocking would make Frazetta blush. Thank the gods for a PS3 release!

I'd hit that sorceress.

Saw that Vanillaware name and was excited. The they showed the picture of the Amazon and I almost had my first spit-take. Not sure if i'll be playing this with other people around and that's never a good sign.

As someone who loved Muramasa, this might be a system seller for me. Maybe... If I can get as excited about a few other games as I am for this, then I'd be sold.
 
Wait a second, this is sorta in 3D. As in the way that the old ninja turtles games were kind of in 3D. I foresee some pixel hunting to find out where I have to be to hit people, which worries me a bit. Still, I'll give them the benefit of the doubt.

The character design is fucking embarrassing.

Really terrible title font; barely readable at first glance. Also, huge knockers and asses hanging out is an interesting art direction you rarely see.

Only Playstation? Say it ain't so! :'(

Is this called Dragon's Crown or Queen's Blade? Because there is some serious anatomy issues with that artwork. 
 
That said, if this is anything like D&D: Shadow Over Mystara, I can ignore the anatomy (hopefully, goddamnit Japan!)

Vanillaware games have always toed the line, but this one has officially crossed into the realm of the grotesque.

This looks sweet! Old school fantasy style brawler with an awesome visual style. Vanillaware does it again...

Animation of the characters seem a bit off & unnatural in how they move, liking the revealing outfit on the sorceress but that's about all I like so far on this game.

I'm reminded why I liked Odin Sphere, but I'm not completely sold on the co-op. I liked the involved single-player experience, as repetitive as some would say it was.

I think I'll go dig out my copy of Vagrant Story.

The female characters freak me out. Other than that, it looks like a serviceable sidescrolling brawler.

I gotta say, looks great!  Kind of like Golden Axe for a new age.  I ain't got a PS3 though (monetary constraints).  Maybe they'll do a 360 version?

The character design overall is great.  The fighter's outrageous armor is something they clearly had fun with, the Amazon isn't so crazy when you think about the dudebros in Gears, and the rest are gaming stereotypes, no big deal.
 
The torches they're carrying, the drawbridges, all sorts of other little cues make me think of the D&D arcade games.   After googling a bit, it seems Vanillaware's George Kamitani directed those games for Capcom, so it makes sense.
 
Anyway, nice to finally have a game I care about on either new portable, thanks for covering it.
