This is why I never mess with the local ninjas.

I will freely admit I am not a good enough gamer to even consider this game. Not that the last few didn't look great, it's just way too tough for me.

This seems very japanese. Also, how is he going to defeat the terrorists without a red dot sight on his sword?

I'll just wait for Itagaki's "Devil's Third."

So fucking hyped.  I love Ninja Gaiden.

The second game had some pretty serious balance issues that weren't present in the first game (some of which were corrected in the Sigma version). I worry that without some of the core team ninja guys, this may face a similar fate.

I loved Ninja Gaiden Black... but sans Itagaki, I'm skeptical.  Granted, Ninja Gaiden 2 was a mess, but considering the guy was planning on leaving after completing it, I can understand why.

I'm also crossing my fingers for a Japanese voice setting. Poorly translated cutscenes need some cultural distance before I consider them palatable. Plus, it feels wrong for Hayabusa not to have his DOA2 Dreamcast era voice actor.

The graphical quality of this game surpasses it predecessors, as expected for a sequel, but it seems that this one has what the others lacked - a decent story. I never played NGII because I given up my 360 before it was announced and I skipped out on the PS3 entirely due to the gore omission which affected my purchase. I hyped to see what this one is going to bring to the table and I am glad is going for all consoles and just one.

I know the story for Ninja Gaiden (and II) was non-existent, but it just feels wrong without that old voice actor.

Words cannot express how badly I want this game. I pray to all that is holy that the combat keeps the same feel.

The best part about fighting terrorists is that they don't throw incendiary shuriken at you from off screen.

Ugh, another shamelessly tough game from Team Ninja that just takes out all the fun out of playing it & giving you tons of enemies all with guns. Think I'll pass. Think that any kind of stealth in the game will just work against it as Ryu in this is supposed to be such a killing machine that stealth just seems counterproductive.

Would it be too much to ask for a Ninja Gaiden game where you just fought other ninjas? No demons, special forces soldiers or ghost fish... just other guys with swords. Maybe in a feudal Japan setting? You know, when there were actually ninjas?

The sword combat in Ninja Gaiden/Black/Sigma was and still is the best, most visceral third-person melee combat I've ever experienced. It really felt like I was facing off against deadly ninjas in a classic fight scene in each and every encounter. But fighting over-designed monsters never interested me.

I almost want to switch back to my Ryu Hayabusa avatar that I had for two years in honour of this game :P I will always have it in spirit though.

Looks great, e3 has proven awesome this year.

This seems ok, just think it sounds ridiculous when they say "Hayabusa".

Another one on the buy list. I hope the gameplay stays the same.

I'm interested to know how the Wii U version (WiiU? WU?) version might differ from the PS3/360 versions.

Is it just me, or is Ryu awful at being sneaky? I mean why even wear the black outfit if youre always fighting dudes out in the open.

No but they will probably have rocket launchers coming from off screen instead.

The thing is, how long will it take before the release a far superior version of the game on another platform? It sucks to buy Ninja Gaiden, only to have Team Ninja come out with a Black/Sigma version that blows the original out of the water.

I loved the first ninja gaiden but didnt even bother with the lame looking sequel, this looks a lot better and im actually interested in nija gaiden again now

Oh, great, a neocon ninja game.  "Swallow slash through the forces of terror!  Rip the throats of domestic extremists with your windmill shuriken!  Make the world safe for democracy once more!"  I wouldn't be surprised if Mr. Anonymous looks like Ron Paul under his mask . . .
 
And just, blah.  So flat.  No style.  Doesn't even look as good as the original Xbox game.  That's what ya get when you try to make a Gaiden without Groper-san.

They won't be doing that this time, in all likelihood. The Sigma versions were always put on the PS3 after the original Xbox/360 versions were released. Both platforms are getting the game simultaneously.

The Wii U version, on the other hand, will supposedly have some different tricks up its sleeve.

Looks good to me :) I love crazy Japanese terrorist plots with ninjas that also involve huge robots.

I"m assuming this comment was made pre-announcement, when a lot of people weren't aware that Wii U is just going to be on par with current (ie, 2005/2006) consoles.
