This seems cool. Needs gameplay!

Edited by the_unabomber

yes?

edit: dang, so close to getting that... As a real comment, I'm fairly intrigued. I liked Heavy Rain, and something that expands on that style of gameplay could be cool. Can't wait to see some gameplay...

I respect what Cage TRYS to do with his games, but until he starts making "games" rather than "interactive movies" his works will never get main stream acceptance.

Heavy Rain wasn't much of a game. It was more of a poorly written movie that made me push buttons.

I was hoping this would actually be a closer look at beyond instead of the same thing showed at Sony's conference

But that alone felt revolutionary to me. Even though compared to most movies, the story was subpar, it still felt like some next-level business to be interacting with something in the way it allowed you to and the amount of branching pathways across the entire thing was great. I loved it and can only hope it gets better in the years to come.

Well...this isn't exactly what I had in mind when I said I'd bring Ellen Page home one day, but hey, I'll take what I can get

"A poorly-written movie that makes you push buttons" is an accurate description of practically every video game ever made.

Sony has a lock down on Ellen Page, from look alikes to the real deal.

Your fine to have your opinion so i won't argue heavy rain here but not everything needs to be main stream or be what everything else is. In a time when everyone is chasing WoW, Gears of War, god of war, and call of duty its ok to be different even if flawed. I'm also sure people will support that because that is how new experiences are born.

Two Souls? Uh oh, sounds like a direct competitor to Double Fine Adventure.

Wait, isn't that the sleazy club owner that forced Madison to strip in Heavy Rain?

Performance capture is weird.

So this is just Heavy Rain: Uncharted ? [/sarcasm]

Although it does seem to have some form of specific character action elements and mechanics.

I enjoyed Heavy Rain despite its flaws simply on the merit that it was something completely different. Even if this is just an evolution of that, I'm in.

My prediction: you play as her ghost friend Ivan, and don't actually control the Ellen Page character directly. You'll just use your ghostly powers to keep her alive and safe, or conversely you'll mess up the timing of something and the scene will branch in a manner befitting a David Cage game.

This looks great.

Can't wait for this, loved the last couple of Qunatic Dream games

I enjoyed Heavy Rain up until the story broke for me at the end, so I'll look forward to this.

Please, PLEASE let someone who's not David Cage write the screenplay. All of the interesting interactive storytelling ideas get squandered on Matrix wire-fu fights against the internet. Alternatively, the only female playable character almost getting raped several times or otherwise spending a lot of time in underwear or under the shower.

Weird character models: the game!!!

This and "The Last of Us" seems to be my favorites so far from E3. I'm ready to go anywhere Quantic Dream wants to take me.

Posted by Vortextk

Sony conference was so much better, but I understand why this exists. This is that 2 minute push you need to get people to look at your game. The conference was to let you know, hey, pacing and quiet exist even in video games; and it was far better to bring me in(especially now that I know it and see how weirdly everything was spliced together to make this first half).

I never finished heavy rain, because the asshole shitheads that inhabit the internet spoiled it for me and that soured the entire game for me. After seeing this, I want to finally go back and  play it.

I think fake Ellen Page from The Last of Us looks better than real Ellen Page from Beyond: Two Souls.

Quantic Dream is yet to earn my respect as a great storyteller. Heavy Rain was interesting and Beyond seems to have some intriguing qualities, but judging by the E3 clip (very little, I know), I don't think this has enough soul to mesmerize me like a truly story should. It's pretty, but does it just end up being a good video game story or will it push the boundaries and gain on other media? We shall see.

@arch4non: The girl in The Last of Us in like 12.

Posted by shermanatorek

@arch4non: Fake Ellen Paige doesn't look like Ellen Paige anymore. They changed her face.

Posted by SmokePants

QD's problem is that I didn't think the girl was behaving as oddly as the police officer in that clip.

Posted by primalmaster

I've enjoyed all Quantic dream games so far, from omikron: nomad soul to Heavy rain. I'm looking forward to seeing more of Beyond, and hope to see some gameplay footage soon.

In a land of COD clones games like this are a breath of fresh air. And the fact that it has some meaty production values backing it makes it all that much more enticing.

And i liked (didn't love) Heavy Rain. The finger cutting alone was worth admission.

@Hulkamaniac: I'M RIGHT HERE! WITH FUCKING BALLOON!

Posted by TwistedGamer

I'll buy this because I love Ellen Page so much :)

Posted by hxcaleb

I'm so excited for this! I don't want to know anything else, All I need to know is Ellen Paige, and David Cage! I'm in.

Posted by PlatypusPlatoon

I have no idea what this is, but it looks freakin' fantastic.

Posted by LordLOC

This game and The Last of Us are really itching me to get a PS3...

Posted by nviso209

I much more prefer the good game play than cinematic ambiance which is too much of what the industry has sort of turned into... However I do own Uncharted 1 & 2 and trying to finish 3 as we speak but TLOU looks fantastic from a The Road view???

That was the only thing I was a bit confused about with The Last of Us. When seeing the the gameplay footage the girl looked like she was 10 years old but she sounds like she's over 20 at least.

Both Beyond and The Last of Us looks amazing and will get them on day one!

This is also incredible. Loved Fahrenheit, loved Heavy Rain. Will love this!
