E3 2012: Go Inside Larian Studios for a Look at Divinity: Original Sin

No I am not but the post does make me sound like one worryingly! Hopefully someone who worked for them would be more subtle.

I like that they went back to a simple top down art style but it looks really off. Colors are way too bright as well.

Will this be a broken piece of shit like Divinity 2 was? I'm still waiting for a class action lawsuit so I can get my money back!

Really interesting style of video, which is refreshing. I really recommend checking out the preparing for E3 video on the website http://www.divinityoriginalsin.com/movies.php They seem like a genuinely cool studio with some interesting ideas, I hope this works out for them.

I don't know about that given the literal fighting game combo style action that results from that choice. The capability to sequentially combo Ice+Fire+Electricity to murder foes seems pretty damn awesome frankly. I mean XCOM: Enemy Unknown is going to be turn based and it was a borderline game of day at the least for the Bombcrew.

@Oldirtybearon: Actually, the other Divinitiy games are more like Gothic than anything else.

@Oldirtybearon: Im going to guess it is a primarily PC game but I do believe that some of the previous Divinity games made their way onto the 360.

This game seems really cool, like mixing Magicka's casting system into a proper RPG.

that actually looked good. I thought Divinity was some off-brand Bethesda shite. I had no idea it started as something closer to Baldur's Gate/OG Fallout (talking about gameplay).

Any idea on a console version or will I have to dust off a PC to play this?

I like these guys a lot, and this new Divinity shows promise. Plus releasing the editor at the same time? pro move Lyrian. You've got my bux, even if I can't make levels.

This is my first time seeing this game, or this series, or these developers, but there is nothing about that video that didn't make me feel extremely excited.

It reminds me of something Baldur's Gate or Neverwinter styled. A progression of good 'ole isometric CRPG's. This is going on my list.

Coming in I was thinking of Diablo, but this looks much deeper.

As someone who played and loved the first one I think this could be even better than Divinity 2. I'm interested to learn more about what skill system will be like. It seems like there is a lot of potential when you throw in an interactive environment and co-op. I just hope it's more than water/electricity and oil/fire type stuff.

I much prefer a turn-based style to some of the open-world rpgs of late. Really you can only handle 1 quality rpg at a time, but these turn-based ones are a nice reprieve.

I really liked Divine Divinity. It was a fun game. Beyond Divinity.... ehhhh... I could never get into. But I'll keep an eye on this for sure.

Holy damn! I love the magic system and properties, and the fact that it is turn-based. Too few games of this nature are being made these days. I'll be keeping my eyes on this for sure.

This looks very promising, I'm definitely gonna be keeping an eye on it.
