E3 2012: MGS2 and MGS3 Have Been ReVamped and HD-ified for Vita

They talked about Transfarring so I am a big fan of this trailer.

Same here. If not that, why not port the gamecube remake twin snakes. A shame that its only on gamecube and is pretty expensive now a days, would of love to seen that game given the hd treatment.

@Psykhophear: yeah, i remember reading an interview with Konami where they basiclly said theres no point in trying to do an HD port of MGS1. somthing about it being too expensive and not worth it.

i was kind of hoping they would like they did in japan when the HD collection hit consoles. they got a code for a free download of MGS1. as for peacewalker not being included. im not surprised. they probly couldnt fit it in. but mark my words, as soon as the hd collection hits the streets, peace walker will show up in the vita store for the low low price of Imnotpaying40dollarsforthisyouassillwaitforittogoonsale.

It's probably because the PS1 version cannot be remastered to HD and they didn't want to disappoint the fans with a poor port of the original. However they could port the Gamecube version but that would piss Nintendo off.

I'm actually fine with this Vita port because I'm a huge fan of MGS 2 and 3. Good thing I just bought a PS Vita last month.

GOD DAMMIT! now i need a Vita. Shouldn't have sold my first one. Oh well.. Live and learn.

Maybe you can tell me then ... how does the game play without pressure sensitive buttons like the PS2 had? As far as i know the 360 face buttons are digital ... did it screw up CQC in MGS3? I think I want these on Vita ... but I'm curious how it works.

Wonder if PS Vita is powerful enough for PS2 emulation?

The real question is whether the Ape Escape mini-game in MGS3 is still in there.

I'm going to buy this one because I'd rather have portable versions than have Peace Walker in HD.

The Vita game announcements are fucking lackluster.

Best games ever made! But I'd rather have Peace Walker and it be on my 360.

No Peace Walker that's sad.

Only good if you really want a porable MetalGear game. Personally playing MGS is better in-doors than out.

MGS2 by no means looks "horrid". Though it does look like the whole game has been filtered through a white lense, at least in doors. But I think that give the game its look, and I like it.

Is it really HD-ified if it is only at 960 X 544? Hell i suspect that this doesn't even run at native resolution of the vita.

Just started playing Peace Walker on PS3 and it's great!! Hope they fun all that mother base stuff into the next one.

NO PEACE WALKER? wtf konami that is possibly the worst decision you could make. peace walker was the only one that even made sense on a handheld.

I half expected them to say 'But wait, there's more!' when the original Metal Gear games popped up...

Eh, I'd rather just stick with the Metal Gear Solid HD Collection. When they remake every MGS game and use the latest Konami (or MGS4) engine, make them play like MGS4, then I'll buy another collection of Metal Gear games.
