EA has possessed Navarro in that thumbnail pic.

Also, Alex is the king of flamboyant gesticulations

Yaay :)

Alex totally left him hanging there at the end. Poor guy.

This thumbnail is priceless.

No handshake huh? Way to leave the dude hanging at the end there Alex :)

Somebody needs to make a montage of "GB interview denied handshakes". This is the third one I've seen since yesterday.

nice Sword shirt alex

Great interview, British looking dude.

Yeah, I kinda figured, since the video cut out less than 2 seconds after he put his hand out, that you probably turned to him almost immediately after and realized what was going on. We're just buggin' ya... ;)

Man. I'm actually... excited for a new SimCity...? How can this be...?

Posted by sissylion

Sardonic video description. I applaud you, Tommy D.

I'm really, really looking forward to this.

Sim City, That's a thing! Also, leaving people hanging!

Edited by PsychoPenguin

I was excited for Sim City but with no option to save a city, try a wacky idea or let a monster rampage through it and then reload the save because of the always-connected nature of the game it means that I'll probably stick with SC4.

You perfect asshole.

They have the technology. They can build it, better then it was before.

Excited for this!

The face Alex is making in the thumbnail must make it's appearance in the Photoshop thread. That is a great face.

Geez, I hadn't thought of that, but now that you mention it, yeah. That was half the fun (some would argue more than half) of the previous Sim City games. How're they gonna address that?

Posted by MeatSim

I have been craving for a new city builder and a new SimCity sounds just perfect.

Has anyone at Giantbomb played the SimCity games beyond SimCity 2000? So far there are definitely signs that this has been simplified from Sim City 4, which is not a good thing. I don't mean being made easier to understand, I'm talking about actually removing certain features.

Indeed. Back in grammar school if we went to the computer lab at the end of the day, it always culminated in either watching cities being torn apart or someone getting to the end of The Oregon Trail.

Regardless, it's been so long since I played a SimCity game that I'm pretty excited for this. I was watching the press conference with my buddy and went "Man... why are they spending so much time with this?" And a second later I answered my own question with "Man, Simcity's fucking awesome."

Ugh...not until February 2013! That month is getting hell of crowded!

Is it too much to ask to tone down the bees-having-orgies music in the background of these interview vids? Gives headaches.

I'd like to know if there's a "crime lair" in addition to the "crime layer" E3 Mystery

Thank you so much, DUDE!

Hahaha that was the most stone cold cut I've ever seen in a Giant Bomb interview.

Hawkman says "Fuck your SimCity!"

Graffiti isn't crime. Mark Ecko's Getting Up: Contents Getting Up taught me that

I had heard this was coming out for Mac and being a Maxis/Sim game that would make sense, but it doesn't seem to be.

Posted by Daveyo520

I know it is crazy and won't happen but one of these days I would like to see a Sim City and Sims game connect with each other and interact.

The only person on staff that I've seen initiate the handshake was Jeff. No one else seems to want to shake anyone's hands.

I really didn't want to jump on the bandwagon of hate here, but since the game requirements list a "Broadband connection of 256kb download minimum", and the fact that you can't buy the "expansions" on physical media....

Yeah, you can't play this like the original SimCity games, and you can't truly play this in single player mode. Boo.

Alex, good interview energy. Gamespot has been so dry and awkward. Alex is honest and into talking to this guy.

Jeez, I'm out of the loop. Well damn, I agree then, that is pretty shitty. I couldn't care less about buying the expansions on physical media but an internet connection, which usually means bad drm but hopefully not, and no true single player may push me in the not buy category. Also someone said in the comments here, that there is no hard save which is a real turnoff. Half the fun was destroying your city for shits and giggles.

Posted by Devil240Z

Is it strange that the only thing that turns me off about this game is that at one point it showed cars driving around and one of the cars was driving in the wrong lane for a brief moment.

Sounds realistic to me, it's probably a drunk driver.

No, you are right.

@Devil240Z: I don't know about your city but in downtown New Orleans where it's mostly nothing but a grid of perplexing one-way streets with the occasional poorly marked two-way thrown in just for kicks, this is a fairly regular occurrence.

Did you watch the interview? Dude said pretty clearly that you can play it like a single player game or in a way wheere your town will be influenedd by other towns around you. I don't know about hard saves but it would be strange if you aren't able to atleast quicksave.
