I sort of feel the same way. This looks slightly better than Uncharted in terms of visuals. There are moments in God of War 3 that look better than this game right now, on PS3s we already have.

Star Gears of Uncharted Wars looks freaking amazing!!!

I can't believe how generic games are getting these days. This looks like any other third-person cover-based shooter and was it just me or did their blaster effects sound nothing like star wars??

Sign me up when they show something more interesting involving lightsabers and, you know, stuff from the star wars universe.

Looks pretty sick, but that only lasts for so long. Star Wars needs to make sure the story and all the little things are done well, because as we all know in the department of graphics and visuals, there's always a bigger fish.

It's going to be really depressing next gen when we have all this crazy new tech and we're still just playing a billion slightly different versions of a shooter.

Maybe its the compression on the video - but this doesn't look THAT great. It looks good - but my mind is not blown or anything. Oh and while the graphics may be cutting edge I've had this gameplay for 6 or 7 years on my xbox...thanks.

It's pretty, yeah, but I saw a cover-based shooter with the "Star Wars" license slapped on it.

I get more and more cynical with every passing E3.

Finally something to fill my hunger for a new Star Wars game and looks like there putting some serious effort into it.

A Star Wars game that's all Han Solo and Boba Fett-types sounds like just about the best Star Wars game you could possibly make at this point.

Cracking wise and shooting first in the dirty future, it's what I'm all about.

Blaster sound could use some work, though

Apparently the planet Corusent (sp?) is made of descending levels and this takes place on level 1,313. Heard that in an interview with the game's director.

@DoctorWelch: 1313 is the level of a city. So at the beginning they were traveling down to level 1313 which is sorta like the crime ridden, bad guy hang out level. I forgot the name of the planet.

Yeah I got that vibe from the character movements as well. Seems like that's the basic idea behind what they're trying to do here. Gameplay wise it looks about standard for 3rd person shooter/platformer. Graphics look great but I'm not especially invested in 'pretty' at this point.

ultimately, the value of the game will come from the caliber of the writing.

And the set pieces. And how tired cover based third person shooters will be when the next gen hits.

I hope it's more than Star Wars: Uncharted but even if it is, the game is jaw droppingly beautiful and that's enough to keep my interest until we know more.

We'll never have a jump like we did from PS2->360 or PS3. Games from this generation will stand up better in the future than any other console generation so far

This trend of cinematic games that practically play themselves is disturbing. Granted it's early, but based on the videos these developers hand-picked to show off, Tomb Raider, RE6 and 1313 all appear to be the same game (Uncharted 2) in different clothing. Follow the dot, cover shoot, follow the dot, cutscene, repeat for 8 hours.

It's like we're using all this processing power to hurtle back to the CD-ROM era. Bad enough that military shooters are doing their version of the same thing.

This game looks phenomenal. I hope this is where we're headed for the next generation of consoles, and not just current PC hardware level graphics.
