As a big fan of Elder Scrolls games, I am not excited for this at all.

I'm not really sure whether to be excited for this or not. It could be cool but I don't know if it's really possible to make a true Elder Scrolls experience online.

You know what must suck? Spending five years of your life making a game that nobody thinks is going to be any good. Oh well, at least you get to eat.

As much as I don't want this game to exist, I've had a lot of jobs where working on Elder Scrolls Online would be such an improvement.

The game looks and sounds surprisingly decent, at least when compared to the original screenshot that was released.

Edit: On second thought it looks pretty generic. The adorable spokeswoman is working magic on my perception of what I saw.

Nothing in this video made me excited for entering a Hero Engine Elder Scrolls MMO world. I see fantasy SWTOR with every video and screenshot that is released.

This looks a lot like something I would pay $50-$60 for.

As a single player game.

It's tough to go from Skyrim, which looks rich and fantastic, to a game that's supposed to be next in the series but looks totally washed out and low-res. My brain seriously looks at it and says "Not Elder Scrolls"

Co-op elder scrolls sure, but a mmo elder scrolls no way.

Finesse points sound bad to me, I dunno. This doesn't do anything I want a next TES project to do (Go to either Elsweyr or the swamp place for exemple).

I wish this worked like Diablo 3, drop in co-op, instead of an mmo.

Cyrodiil as a world doesn't seem big enough to be a mmorpg unless it's heavily instanced like SWTOR

Pretty had the same reaction.

This lady looks like someone I know. I think ESO looks like it'll tank, but she's quite pretty.

Edit: On a more positive note, I'd actually probably be down on this game if they hadn't settled for such a... boring art style. It has the same "genericness" problems that Kingdoms of Amalur has.

I thought it looked and sounded better than I expected (but my expectations were also incredibly low for this game). Still, am I the only one who thinks that 38 Studios' Copernicus looked amazing compared to this? It's a shame that game will probably never be released because its world was one I'd actually love to have explored (most of this looks kind of bland and generic).

Does "Monster Combat Designer" mean she designs the combat of monsters, or that she designs the combat in general and happens to be pretty good at it?

I don't get why people are talking about this game like it's the next TES. It's just another MMORPG, play it if you feel like giving it a chance and you like MMOs. Bethesda is working right now on Fallout 4 and then we will have TESVI, just like always. Stop complaining!

Why do MMOs generally have such bad animation? I understand why they can't be graphical powerhouses, but this never mad sense to me.

Even though this looks like a pretty standard MMO I'm finding myself faintly interested in it anyway. It's probably beacuse of the lore and the world. I just wonder if this stuff is considered canon and if bethesda writers are involved in any way

This game serves one purpose. After the release of Elder Scrolls Online, modders can properly translate all of these areas into Skyrim's superior engine...

thus making a massive game I'd actually WANT to play.

Elder Scrolls fans appreciate and love Elder Scrolls for its adherence to a complete and satisfying SINGLE PLAYER experience.

To make it an MMO is.. so retarded.

@HarlequinRiot: It's cause they don't have turn animations or else you'd be able to get them locked in that animation and run rings around all enemies with 2 people.

Really sucks to see how excited the devs are for the game when everyone else has practically written it off :(

5 years is a long time to make a game, and in that time the market has completely changed, I hope it works out for them.

Man I hope this game doesn't bomb. I'm not an MMO guy so I wasn't gonna play it regardless but it would be a bummer to do all that work for nothing. If the Giant Bomb response is indicative of what everyone else is saying...man...

I'm cautiously hopeful that this game isn't total garbage or plays like your typical MMO. I'll probably be disappointed, I just hope I'm not.

i am a big elder scrolls fan and will try to keep an open mind about this game but i keep thinking this will be an elder scrolls game i may skip. if the beta is open i will definitely get into it to see if i get enjoy the game and get hooked into it like i have with every other elder scrolls game i played.

edit: the combat sounds like typical mmo stuff which is not what i want from an elder scrolls game.

I probably won't play this because I don't play MMO's, but the big war to crown an emperor has some Game of Thrones underpinnings that I find intriguing.
