I hope the ignite engine is not a step backwards from FIFA 13. They managed to get the flow of the game right(if you like to play pacey attacking football ) after the less than impressive sluggish attacking game in 12. Should be interesting to see

I was more impressed with the current-gen PES 2014 trailer (animations/lighting look absolutely fantastic) than FIFA 14. I'm anxious to see what PES will look like what it's designed for next-gen platforms. Is the king back? Will PES finally recapture the magic from the PS2 era? I hope so. At least FIFA finally has foot-planting/inertia because it was really holding the series back. I'll get both as I always do, I love me some footie.

And Capt_Ventris, the pacing in FIFA is fine is you enjoy a more "arcadey" experience, especially when it comes to UT (as the gameplay is even faster). When I play FIFA on the PC I have to set the gameplay to slow otherwise it's ridiculous.

FIFA, it's in the genes! Can't see me NOT buying this game at some point...

@nights: That's really interesting as I've always found PES to have a more arcadey feel! haha. You are right about the game speed on FIFA though , I tend to slow it a little too.

Ha, I've heard that a lot. It has its fair share of issues, but there's a lot of subtle nuance to PES that takes awhile to notice. I'd definitely recommend giving PES 2014 a try once it's released. The J-League is usually exclusive to Japanese versions of the game, but Konami has secured the rights for the ACL. They haven't disclosed what that actually entails (in terms of what teams/leagues will be available), but it sounds promising.

I play PES on the PC which allows access to a ton of user created mods such as proper kits, team names, boots, player faces, new leagues, adboards, stadiums, the list goes on. Someone even created a J-League patch for PES 2013. There's also quite a few gameplay patches that allow you to adjust physics, game speed, etc. I'd suggest getting 2014 for PC if you have a decent rig.
