E3 2013: Mirror's Edge 2 is Real

This looks less like an actual game in the works and more like a movie demo meant to get fan to shut up while they make Battlefield 4 and 5 and 6........and 7..........................and 8..............................................................................and Battlefield Ghosts.

I liked the first game, but I didn't pay full price for it, and I will not pay full price for this one.

Looks great. Exactly what I'd want for a Mirror's Edge trailer except for kicking dudes in the dick.

I really enjoyed Mirror's Edge despite the shooting stuff towards the end. When you had a good parkour run going it always felt really great.

Did they actually say Mirror's Edge 2? I'm not sure they did.

I'm not sure how a barely 1 minute long trailer could possibly tell you that.

I'm not going to lie, when the tattoo artist took off his rubber glove, I was surprisingly impressed. Regardless if it's pre-rendered or not, computer animation has come a long way since the days of old.

Wish they had the guts to drop the combat completely.

I was so ready for the Mirror's Edge theme song to come back at the end....was kind of caught off guard when a different chord progression was played.

I wonder if they don't own the rights to that original song?

Let's put it this way: After playing the last one I was hoping for NO combat. Maybe they make it fun this time, I don't know. I'm definitely happy they didn't kill the IP.

Melee combat could be ok, the shooting was the really bad part.

@mnzy: yup, if they can get first person melee combat as right as they did the platforming, and ditch the guns could be pretty special.

Since they're showing her getting the tattoo's, is this going to be considered a prequel?

I was with it till they showed the combat section, i wish they just took it out it almost ruined the first game.

I knew there was a reason I really recently snagged the first Mirror's Edge.

Mirror's Edge is the game I always wish would get a sequel and never does. It is very rare that I ever take games off of that list... I guess I should walk away with new hope for Alpha Protocol, Beyond Good and Evil and Brutal Legend sequels!

I'm really excited for this.. Even with all the annoying, gun toting enemies from the first game I really enjoyed playing it.

Stoked that EA is actually listening to what niche gamers want and are making a follow-up, if not necessarily a sequel, to an awesome cult classic.

I do hope they make the combat more easily avoidable. After spending a lot of time with the original, I can now actually finish that game in 1,5 hours without any combat. But it's more exploits around it, rather than an intentional gameplay option. I hope they address that.

I played, like, one level of this back when I subscribed to Gamefly. I should probably give it another shot since the hype train is fucking outta control on this one.

and I thought Bioshock Infinite made me motion sick wow.

I bought it and returned it after a day. All Mirror's Edge did was prove that super linear first person platforming is the antithesis of fun. Amazed so many people here actually wanted a sequel.

Ohhhh, a follow-up to an over-rated game. Great.
