I'm actually really glad that schafer has a part in the new fandango because it means he PROBABLY won't fuck it up.

Very happy. Was able to get a copy some 10 years ago and, fuck adventure puzzles but, this game was bursting with awesome art and atmosphere. Glad it's being revived.

This is such awesome news. I am going to buy a Playstation 4, so I can play this game when it comes out. Grim Fandango is probably the best adventure game I have ever played, and I couldn't be more excited that Tim Schafer and his Double Fine crew are going to do a re-mastered version of it.

I was exited until the last 30 seconds of video. I though they were remaking Grin Fandango, but when he mentioned reusing the mod and patches made by the comunity it was clear that they are reusing the original stuff.

Nice to see that he has a reminder of Ryan there with him. Lots of great old interview footage there. Never played the game before but I've heard good things. I'll probably pick up this HD version at some point when I get a PS4.

One of my favorite games of all time, even named my cat Meche. Hopefully they just go balls out and do an "extended" version with additional puzzles and dialogue bits, especially towards the back half of the game. It always felt a bit rushed and barren compared to the tremendous first 2 acts/areas (El Marrow, Rubacava).

Super excited Grim will finally be officially re-released and remastered, especially after years of neglect by Lucas. Nobody is more deserving of that right than Tim. For all the legal crap that has prevented this game from a proper release for so long, its great that he can finally have an opportunity to re-release HIS game so it can be re-introduced to today's audiences and given the respect it so rightly deserves.

1998 was a bumper crop year; a few games fans still hold dear today: Ocarina of Time, Starcraft, Metal Gear Solid.

This was my introduction to Grim Fandango:

Loading Video...

After that, I remember not really knowing anything about it but that seed had been planted and it just grew so when I saw Grim Fandango in the store, I asked my parents for it for maybe a birthday or Christmas present. The funny thing was though, I never originally knew about MI3 either. My dad was going out and I really wanted to play Monkey Island 1 again as I used to play it during breaks in my primary school so I asked if he could look in the store to see if he could buy it and then he came home with a collection of MI1, 2 and 3. I was super thrilled and that's my personal little history on LucasArts adventure games.

That Ryan pin is really sweet. Makes me tear up to think it's almost been a year.

As for the game, I've never gotten to play this before. I've heard about it my entire life though. I can't wait to get to experience it in a modern, polished form.

Grim Fandango was a significant and memorable part of my childhood. When Adam made the announcement at Sony, I thrust my hands into the air in silent celebration (it was about 3am).

This may be circumstantial, but I looked up the lead programmer on Grim Fandango, check out what he's up to now: Bret Mogilefsky

You know, I think I'm old enough now that there just isn't going to be a game to knock Grim Fandango from its rightful place at the very centre of my heart. I was twelve when it came out, so it took a few years until I got around to playing it, but when I did …

For some people it's Super Mario World or Zelda: Ocarina or whatever; for me that game is Grim. I can't wait for this.

I was 16 when it came out but it's the same for me. I still consider it among the best if not the best game story of all time. Not that it's super deep or anything, but it's such an amazing, fulfilling and complete tale from beginning to end. I remember the feeling of satisfaction I got at the end of the game was profound, which is notable in the world of games where so many endings are afterthoughts.

I remember playing it as a little kid, but I didn't get far, English isn't my first language so I didn't know what I had to do, but I really liked the art and the look of the characters.

This was one of the greatest adventure games of all time. I loved Manny Calavera, and I even have that little skeleton pre-order bonus thing in a drawer somewhere. Can't wait until this comes out again so I can play it with my wife and not have to see if I can get scummvm working on my PC (does it even still work?).
