Love the voice acting/mo-cap of the dictator dude. Really realistic with the mannerisms, tone of voice, etc. :D

I only wish I could give you my money harder.

I will say one thing about the recent Far Cry games, they are excellent at giving antagonists (I'm guessing) great introductory scenes. No idea how it will play out long term, but they're always fun to watch.

Okay, they're clearly trying to invoke Vaas with this new psycho. Not sure how well they're going to pull it off, but then again I was wary of Far Cry 3 before it came out because the second one was kind of disappointing.

This is a pre-order collectors edition style game so far for me. Lets Keep it up Ubi! Sadly it wont be on pc that I purchase it as I refuse to help them with keeping that damn Uplay crap!

There's a psycho in all the selfies I take.

D:

Actually, I don't think I've ever taken a selfie.

Damn this looks great.

If they just keep pumping out new Far Cry games and each one has a cool villain like this, I won't mind.

Eventually they are going to have one where all the villains are going to come together in a one building and you're going to have to fight your way out or something like that.

The whole Vaas split personality theme that they went for with those first trailers for Far Cry 3 was so exciting and felt like it was going to be something different just ended falling flat. Sorry if i'm a little apprehensive at Ubisoft's ability to maintain a strong narrative and interesting characters. Well I'm still exciting to see more, just weary.

That's one Cumberbatch-sounding motherfucker.

Wow I fucking love it. Could not have been a better trailer/opening sequence, in my mind. The obvious psychoness of killing the henchman maybe a little typical but everything else from the selfie to The Clash at the very end was perfect.

You know what I like about Troy Baker? He's legit and getting better at diversifying his voice. Barely recognized him here. Looking forward to him yelling at me all the time in this game.

So I see this game is going to be rated "E" for Everyone....

I wonder if Brian Tyler is going to be doing the music again, it sounded like his work.

I was expecting the monkey to jump off the bus and dual wield the shit out of that border patrols! Everytime I'm disappointed by these trailers...

@gnorbooth: I don't think that he's getting better, but rather he is just being given more opportunities to show his range. If you've ever watched a video of him acting, the man could always impress.

Posted by Gnorbooth

@imrachers: Yeah I can agree with that. Probably even more so with all the motion capture going on, where he is actually acting these roles instead of just being a dude in a VO booth. Either way, cool to see the dude continuing to stretch his immense chops.

I don't know; I actually feel like they're sticking with psycho but going in a much different direction than Vaas. This guy seems much more elite and like he wants to be your buddy, with quiet rage, while Vaas wanted to philosophize and exploded with anger all the time. Definitely similar in the sense that it's a performance driven psycho but I feel like the similarities stop there.

Posted by paulunga

@whatisdelicious: Yeah, I didn't mean to say they're too similar personality-wise, just a similar archetype. Eccentric psychopath or something like that.

Edited by whatisdelicious

@paulunga: Ah, I gotcha. Yeah, that's definitely their thing. This guy reminds me a lot of Hoyt (who was cool but a shit replacement for Vaas) so I hope he can fill the shoes.

I had some deja vu while saying "man, he has a sweet mohawk." But dollars to doughnuts this guy is going to be a whole new character. If anything, the Far Cry games are really good at nailing at least one character.

Posted by Glottery

Certainly not as menacing as Vaas, but still a pretty promising character. Just give me a chance to have a proper duel with him by the end, or at least don't throw away his potential as badly as you did in FC3.

I really hope they had planned to make that the box art all along because if a bunch of whiny assholes ruined that first image's chance of making it on the box then I'm going to be sad...I thought that captured what they were going for - Anarchy.

Regardless of that, since that first piece of art was never confirmed to be the final art anyway, I'm all over this game. Better wait a while though - Don't want to pre-order it and then have to cancel it when they announce a super special edition like EA did for Dragon Age.
