Not really understanding why people are in here asking how much of the game Patrick has played. He states clearly in the first part that he's beaten the game before somewhere around age 11.

Never played CT before. I am loving the gameplay and the story and the music and the Akira T. art. I totally see why it's so revered.

I can't believe they're not calling Frog Bro-G

They had to endure that forest over and over.

So he played it about four years ago?

Waka Waka!

Out of interest is there any difference between playing this in High Quality or HD, or doesn't it make a difference in these olde game videos?

RLY!? You wouldn't have shown her around the fair!? You guys suck at RPGs.

still using to same 3 jokes eh? Be a little less obvious you recorded these together.

being them being lost is also fun to watch

I'm confused as to how much of the game Patrick has played before. He tries to act surprised or unsure of what's going on, but he's quick to tell Ryan when something is a consumable or what a status effect does. I'd rather an endurance run with two people who don't have prior knowledge of the game beyond basic stuff.

You don't have to know anything about this game to know what the consumables and status effects do.

How about Patrick's foreshadowing of a future boss in Part 2?

There was a save point. I'd say we can attribute that to logic.

It's funny seeing Patrick behave like an adventure game tip system, slowly hinting at stuff till eventually "Hey why don't we just go in the room where she disappeared in".

Still, I think they need to pay more attention to the dialogue because it does tell them exactly what to do. Bucca states they should visit that room flat-out.

@Pest: Except that there wasn't. I'm talking about the part on the bridge.

i operate on the cupcake barter system, and its worked fine for me...

I didn't hear that. It's why I was legitimately asking.

It's not like Vinny and Jeff ever tried to be subtle about recording multiple episodes in one sitting.

*Area with no save point around*

Jeff: "How about we, uh...take a break?

Vinny: "Sure. See you all tomorrow for more endurance run!"

*End of video*

*Start of next video is exact same screen*

Vinny: "Welcome back! What day is today? Monday? Tuesday?

Jeff: "Uhh...Tuesday".

Loving the ER so far... but geez guys, I thought I was impatient.

He flat out said he beat the game when he was 11. That's a pretty damn memorable boss, or at least for me it was. So I don't blame him for mentioning it as soon as they saw the bridge. He probably is surprised at other things because it's easy to forget or misremember smaller details over such a long time period.

I've been playing along on the DS, so this episode was particularly hard to watch, what with me having a handy dandy map and the path in the canyon being fresh in my mind.

Posted by The_Ruiner

God it's frustrating to watch them walk past the thing they're supposed to find and the place they're supposed to go over and over and over...

Posted by notdavid

@SparkleMotion: Oh shit! I always wondered how they did that without affecting the game clock. In hindsight, I'm a fucking idiot.

Guys, seriously. 16:30: "WHERE DID PRINCESS NADIA DISAPPER? SHE MAY STILL BE THERE."

@Make_Me_Mad

Getting lost and wandering past your destination endlessly is Endurance Run tradition.

Also, not reading. Best parts of an ER.
Posted by BenderUnit22

It only took them 3 tries to find their way back to the chrono gate? Good job, I guess.

Posted by Videogames

Hopefully I'm not the only one pulling out my bass and playing that little riff every time they go into combat.

It may be Ryan's first starring role in an ER, but  I really like the way he has been playing it. He's been playing it the true RPG way, talk to everyone, explore everywhere; I like it.

The comments for these are hilarious.

"THIS ISNT TRUE ENDURANCE RUN THEY KNOW WHAT TO DO/PLAYED THIS BEFORE"

5 min later

"ARGH SO FRUSTRATING THEY CANT FIGURE SOMETHING OUT IMMEDIATELY!"

People its pretty simple. If you dont like it dont watch it. I personally enjoy these.

So sit the fuck down and stop beeing whiny girls or leave the room.

Posted by Antiimony

I got stuck like 25 hours in on the DS in this game. I should start playing again.

Posted by Panacamanana

I've never played this game, so I think they are playing it just like I would.

I wouldn't know what the fuck to do.

Posted by sam89

This episode really tested my endurance.

It would also be really awesome if Jeff and Vinny did an episode at least. An endurance run without them just doesn't feel right. They had that certain persona, if you know what I mean.

Posted by jozzy

Well, I think these are great. Just keep doing what you are doing guys. I am actually considering picking this game up, it seems to hold up extraordinarely well. And that is from somebody who usually can't get into the older rpg's he used to love as a kid.

Posted by wapostyle

These guys are totally trolling us. There is no way anyone that plays video games for a living is as in the dark about how an RPG works.

Edited by Draxyle

Oh man, I have to admit getting lost at that canyon part too. It's extremely deceptive and hidden at that last part, one of the only times in the game where a zone-line was really unclear.

But not finding Barle first was amusing if not a bit silly. "Guys, don't go back to the present yet! You kinda forgot someone!"

Can't wait for next episode; should be fairly entertaining.

Posted by RetroVirus

That forest music sounded almost identical to Final Fantasy...

Posted by takua108

Just gotta say, when Patrick says uh-TRI-byoot, it's basically the same thing as ecks-ECK-yoo-ta-bul. It's a valid pronunciation, but for a different usage of the word (the verb, not the noun).

Posted by morrelloman

Anyone know if they are planning on showing off multiple endings in this junt?

Posted by vince_kupo

Canyooon!! LOL XD

Posted by altairre

I am really liking this ER so far, eventhough I was sceptical at first. Ryan/Patrick is a good combination.

God now i wanna play this so baadd!!

Posted by Scarbearer

Man, I don't wanna be a nay sayer because I love me some Endurance Run, but I think it's gonna be really hard for me not to start yelling at ths screen when Ryan and Patrick are missing something I remember!

Posted by ExplodeMode

Hey Brono, is Ryan good at games?

No load times, no patches, no crazy bugs - old games were awesome.

Posted by AwesomeAquaman

Needs more salt.

This music just makes me want to play Xenogears.

Posted by ObsideonDarman

LONG LIVE THE ENDURANCE RUN!

"Their fucking dancing goats"

Posted by direspoon

Poor Will gets teased for saying executable wrong, but Ryan just lets Patrick's pronunciation of attribute (n.) fly? What a double standard!

Posted by ROBOTTI2009

Great that you guys are doing this but holy shit was this part painful to watch

Posted by Antarok

Getting lost and wasting 20 minutes is what the Endurance Run is all about! Loving it so far guys.
