For the love of God, don't get rid of Black Frost.

They need to stop being so obsessive about levels, Black Frost is pretty much the best persona in the game until Trumpeter at level 63, if they fuse him just because of his level, that would be a huge mistake.

Tentarafoo works!

Light/Dark spells!
Keep black frost!!!

Yep. Can't wait for monday.

im not too into the numbers for the pictures imo

Man I really wish they just saved before hand and skipped  monsters on their way back.. 4 floors isn't bad.
I have bad memories of finding sweet stuff and dying without saving. Also tentarafoo working all of sudden is hilarious.

My memory is pretty bad with this game but I thnk they fight a robot here or a tank?

Posted by Beomoose

See, you guys shat on MaMudoon when fusing, and now you wish you had it.

Posted by TehBuLL

omg!  why!?  WHATS IN TEH DOOR!?

Posted by LordAndrew

Black Frost is amazing.
Also, nice to see Tentarafoo doing a good job. Maybe I should use it a little more often.

This was already pointed out yesterday, but just in case Jeff and Vinny didn't see it, remember to get Yukiko a harder-hitting fan next time you go into town.  The 50 extra SP is going to waste on her now.

@Enns: It's a killer robot that self destructs.

Dude, did I just here a non-Persona related SMT reference with the comment about COMPs summoning demons? Someone been playing some Devil Survivor perhaps?

Posted by PatrioticPuppy

D: As much as I love you guys, your strategies are terrible.  If you want to conserve SP, don't use any unnecessary spells.  For example, the World Balances.  THEY ONLY ATTACK YOU.  And they don't null/reflect electricity.  THEREFORE, just stick in a persona that reflects electricity and attack them, and they'll basically just kill themselves.

Also, take experiences into account.  If physical attacks work well, USE THEM.  Don't waste SP on spells when you can just Sonic Punch someone and heal up later.

But enough of that.  Mid-boss on Monday!!!  The excitement!

Vinny was talking about Devil Survivor a lot in the last podcast.

Just once, I'd like to see a fusion accident just to hear the guys' reactions. :)

Posted by Blackout62

Sweet Cthulu, use wind break or fire break on the resistant enemies so you can easily kill them with traditional means!

Posted by Zeik
@WrenchNinja:

Ah, I don't usually listen to the podcast.

Oh, and hey Wrench. :P
Posted by King9999

The Devil Arcana Chance is no good at this point in the game.  I wouldn't bother.

Posted by LordAndrew
@King9999: Yeah, Devil Arcana sucks. Don't use it.

"Guys do as you did with the cops on strong against everything guys. Use Wind/firebreak and kill them with a hit all spell "

actually i would say no, kind of a waste of SP.
Posted by RedRoach

i wonder what would happen if you fused jack frost, pyro jack, and blackfrost.

Edited by Khiash

Alright, I'd say you've got this game well underway.
Just one thing.. You know those World Balances? Not only do they only attack Charlie, BUT, don't you have some items that deal Light/Dark damage? (Segaki Rice for example casts some form of Hama)
Oh.. another: How do your hours stay consistent? Do you guys all film the videos all at once or something? Surely you can't just leave your PS2 on while you're on break, else you'd be well over a couple hundred hours...

Edited by animateria
@Khiash: It's easy... You say... "It's over folks! Check back tomorrow."

And just play the game some more, you know, record the next episode right then and there, they just need to save before they are done for the day.

I'm sure these are made at least a day or two in advance.

" Oh yeah, Vinny likes Torchwood. Vinny, if you're reading this, be sure to watch the latest series which is coming very shortly to BBC America called "Children of Earth". It's broadcasting at the moment in the UK and it's the best its ever been."
Absolutely, it's like a whole new show now - not that it was bad before, but the change in pacing and tone in this latest season is a huge improvement.

You guys are cutting through this dungeon like butter! That's usually how I do it... get the story dungeons out of the way in the first few days of availability and then sit back and chill with social links for the rest of the month. That way you totally avoid a potential Death By Fog scenario.
Posted by SaraHysaro

Aw, it's a shame you guys didn't try light. That would have worked too, and you had Mahama on Thoth, which would have saved a boatload of SP. Ah well, what's done is done. No need to be perfect. =)

In other news, awesome job getting through the dungeon! You're almost there! More than halfway done after this mini boss. ^^

GUYS You have To save ON Dec 2nd!

DONT UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES GET THE BAD ENDING

but jsut in case you do,if you save on Dec 2nd you'll be fine

Edited by legendary1

As you guys have noticed, not all of the enemies resistances/weaknesses are listed. Usually when enemies have no weaknesses they are actually weak to ailments like confusion. Pretty sure there are no enemies weak to almighty. Sadly Almighty damage is pretty bad for you in most cases, too SP intensive for regular use and hitting weaknesses does more damage. Enemies with it hurt like hell though.

Jeff was totally WIRED this epiosde it was awesome JEFF WAS OFF HIS FACE...wicked bro.

Goddangit, I just preloaded this while I went to dinner on the abhorrently slow hotel wi-fi connection, and I was excited to watch.  Then I accidentally clicked a bookmark on the bookmark bar and I'll have to wait another hour. =(

Im happy they finally realized they had a ton of SP recovering items. If they left again  I was gonna cry a little bit.

@Zeik:

You should. Probably the best and most humorous gaming podcast I've been listening to lately.

Oh and hey there yourself Zeik. Figured you were the same Zeik. : )

Finally got my own copy of P4 on Wednesday and have been playing it non-stop... I've been getting supremely lucky.  During the Sauna dungeon, I fused a Sarasvati with all four elemental attack spells, plus Invigorate 2, and it's served me well all the way through the Rise dungeon.

I also drew upright Judgment during the Sauna and Striptease dungeons.  Plus, in the Striptease, the previous aracana effect I had active was reversed Hierophant (increased chance of reversed cards during arcana chances for a while), yet still managed to pull upright Judgment JUST when I was thinking about pulling out at the fifth floor.  It allowed me to finish the entire Striptease on 6/25 - the first day the dungeon becomes available.  Feelin' pretty awesome about that.

Question for P4 experts: I chose to join the music club near the beginning.  Will I ever get a chance to do Yumi's S.Link later on?

No.Both clubs give same arcana(Sun). You can make Yumi S. Link on second playthrough. All P4 experts will play at least twice playthrough because it needs two playthrough in order to see all scenes, all dialogues, all persona and all bosses.

@MoTheHawk: Damn, nice. You might call it lucky, but IMHO luck is also a skill in its own way. Also, whether it's your luck or not, I've gotten the impression that the "music club" version of Sun Commu ranks up faster, so hopefully you won't have to worry about going as often.

Mahama (available on their Thoth) would have been better. =) Or even just Hama. I was stuck with just Hamaon in that dungeon, and after fighting those guys 3-4 times I just figured it would be cheaper to just run.

Edit: Oh, and using Tentarafoo can help. and an even cheaper method that was mentioned previously is to just guard with everyone while having the MC equiped with a persona who reflects lightning.

Considering I don't play this game, can anyone tell me how close they are to finishing it?

Posted by kirisame
@SJSchmidt93: Probably another 20 hours of playtime. The average episode is ~30 minutes, so perhaps another 40 episodes?
Plotwise, they are at about the 3/4 mark. However, the last quarter of the game is chock full of story-cutscenes just like the first quarter was, so there will be a lot of pushing X.

summoning demons with your COMPS? was that a smt: devil summoner reference, or just a coincidence?

Posted by Dethfish

Just got done with this dungeon today. I thought I'd give some minor tips about what I learned.

- The mid boss only uses physical attacks. Try using someone who reflects physical.

- Watch out for dark spells. A couple shawdows use it towards the bottom floors. I was using a Throne, just like Jeff and Vinny have, who is weak to dark. I think that would have been an instant game over if it wasn't for the Endure Dark move I had.

- There is only 9 floors in this dungeon.

- The main boss used a lot of Bufudyne. I had to guard with Yukiko almost every turn. It also seemed power charge + heavy physical attack did more damage than mind charge + heavy spell. Maybe it just depends on what Persona your using though.

I'm not an expert when it comes to P4 but hopefully those little tips will help.

This  is the most glowingly positive comment I've seen here. Good job not screaming at them about what they did wrong.  : P

LOL Dude!  I finally start paying attention while I'm watching when you get to the maybe boss and you hold out until Monday.

Awesomeness embodied.  The endurance run shows no signs of slowing down, and for that I'm grateful.  I'm happy to report I started my own P4 game a little over a week ago and boy is it going great.  I was convinced  that after the disappointments of the  not-to-distant past like Final Fantasy XII and Lost Odyssey (for me anyway) the traditional JRPG format couldn't be revitalized.  Was I wrong or what?  I've definately gotta  give P3 a try when I can.

As far as progress goes, I got a little bit ahead of you guys but I think I'll take a break so I can start playing along with the Endurance Run once more.  Hope you dont mind that I compare my experience to this run's but around this point I actually ended up fusing a Succubus and my Devil level got me to spirit drain and further.  I gotta tell you she was a life-saver.  I had inhereted Invigorate 2 and with spirit drain she was a SP machine.  Sad thing to point out to you guys is that her last spell is Invigorate 3!  Shame you weren't diggin' her that much.  Still,  that was your choice, you still ended up with some pretty savage dudes and you're proceeding at a quality pace.  Keep up the great work guys.

I think someone already mentioned this, but perhaps Susano-O's higher magic ability increases the chance of Tentarafoo ability, and this will be further helped by Confuse Boost passive ability, should you choose to pass on the ability in fusions. I am enjoying this feature on the site as always. I hope you guys are having as much fun as the rest of us are.

Have you given a thought for the next game to be featured on the endurance run? I hope some obscure import title or even PC game could be a good candidate for their revival in the collective consciousness of gamers who appreciate good gameplay and fun factor above all else.
