@Failsafe: Stop whining.

Posted by Rox360

@Phatmac:

No, you. He had a valid point. Patrick needs to stop humming along with everything all the time, especially when he doesn't even know the melody he's trying to follow! I don't think he understands how bad it sounds and I bet he'd stop it if we forced him to listen to a recording of himself doing it.

In contrast, I don't mind when Ryan hums along to something. It's not like he's any better at it, so I'm not exactly sure why that's less annoying, but I think it may have something to do with Ryan's humming always being sort of over the top, somehow. Like he puts more energy into it, but doesn't take it as seriously, or something? I don't know. In either case, I agree with the point that Pat needs to stop trying to hum or sing things, because he's awful at it.

Great ER. A little short but still great!

Spectacular ending!

This episode more than makes up for the first dozen or so episodes, even if it was a bit of a stumbling learning process. :D

In the end, everything they learned was put to the test and they passed easily. Cheers to Ryan and Patrick!

You all realize that by making a point about how annoying you find Patrick's singing, you are only encouraging him to do it more, right?

I think the only thing to hate about this Endurance Runs are all the whiners that chimed in about something so and so did or how they didnt do something the 'correct way'.

Guh, why aren't they giving Brog the nice hats?? First, they gave their Prism helm to that chick they don't use. And then, when they take the Prism helm off Bobo in favor of the Haste helm, they fail to give it Brog. Come on guys, this is Chrononomics 101.

Forever Brono.

My only beef with this whole ER is that Popeye's is delicious. Clearly the best fried chicken chain.

Posted by joshrholloway

Watched most of this live yesterday. I think it's funny how many people were saying every step of the way "they'll never beat Lavos with these strategies!" and then they got it on the first try.

Posted by wumbo3000

There ends another Endurance Run. I kinda feel like an ole' GB vet: I've seen every single episode of every ER, and I started watching when Vinny and Jeff first put that P4 episode 1. Good job Patrick and Ryan.

The most mind blowing part of this cast is putting a place like KFC above Churches or Popeyes. For as much as this site talks about pizza your fried chicken mojo is weak.

Church's Chicken is like getting a bucket of flavorless grease. If that nasty shit rates ANYWHERE on your fried chicken radar you're a dirty piece of a shit!

Edited by Draxyle

I have never seen anyone happier to find a save point. I swear they cheered more for that than they did when they beat the game. Not that I blame them, I was sweating just watching that onslaught of bosses with no break in-between.

Really awesome run Bryatrick! I'm very glad you guys agreed to do this in the first place. Until next time?

Great job guys, very much enjoyed it

Seriously, Popeyes is the shit. Those biscuits are like little bits of heaven in your mouth.

I have my doubts that they'll revisit 16 bit SNES JRPG territory any time soon, but if they take it upon themselves to take on another "classic" RPG, sign me up for Final Fantasy VI/3.

I have my doubts they'll ever do an Endurance of any sort ever again, thanks to the assholes who have infested the comments over the last few months.

THANKS, ASSHOLES!

God damn... it's over. Now I'm sad. What is to fill that hour long void every weekday morning?

Great endurance run, guys!

"How about I trade you some of our useless female party members?"

Posted by Murdoc_

Just finished it. That was amazing guys, thank you for going through this game. I never got into it as a kid and I'm sorry I didn't after this because it was a damn good game.

Keep the endurance runs coming, they are my favorite part of Giant Bomb!

Thanks for the endurance run Ryan and Patrick. Was a pleasure to watch.

Posted by Treppass

Posted by buckybit

wtf? 2,5+ hrs???? woaaaah ...

... have not watched any of those after the 1st one. No time. But will give this a go. I like thick books.

Posted by morrelloman

kind of sad this is over...i must do new game plus on Ipad...but not with these dumbass character names

PS Except for Bobo

Endured till the end duders. Till the end...

So is this technically the longest episode in the entire series of Endurance Run?

This was one of the greatest conclusions ever with so many great moments in the chat.

Also by doing the whole thing without ever really dying they really shut up the people complaining about them sucking.

Posted by sanzee

You have come along way young grasshoppers.

Posted by NathHaw

Patrick's humming helped me endure! Thanks for the ER, duders.

Posted by Rox360

@ChrisTilton:

Nope. I consider it to be feedback. If he wants to intentionally keep up a bad habit at the cost of losing a small portion of his viewers, then that's his decision - and a bad one at that. I'm not enraged by it or anything, so it's not like he could troll me for laughs, I just sincerely wish he wouldn't do it while recording content for the site as it makes me enjoy it slightly less than I otherwise would have.

I sometimes record videos with live commentary, myself. Sometimes I do really stupid things that I don't catch until I have to listen to myself do them while editing, and that's my wake-up call to stop doing those things. As Patrick doesn't have to edit his own videos, he probably never gets to listen to his own mistakes and doesn't learn from them that way, so he totally should value the feedback from those who have to listen to him after the fact.

Loved it! Giant Bomb has the best video content on the web. Thanks so much and look forward to whatever you guys do next!

Posted by Callmehyde

Thanks for doing this Ryan & Patrick. This was entertaining to watch and kept me coming back to the site M-F.

Posted by seannao

Why can't I add videos as favorites on giantbomb itself

Posted by supamon

Congratulations and thank you for another great ER! Followed it from start to finish and keeping me entertained all the way.

Hope you guys will consider doing more ERs in the future. I truly truly enjoy them!

You think maybe you're one of these "assholes" cause you sure seem like one to me...

lol at people complaining about humming and how it "loses" viewers. There's proper feedback, and then there is telling someone to stop acting like a person. It must be very hard for some of you to make friends, apparently.

Let the dude hum; I don't even notice it most of the time.

Great ER run, guys!

Posted by kerikxi

This ending still chokes me up a bit. Good job guys. Time to think about the next ER!

Posted by ElCapitan

Thanks for the Endurance Run, guys. Loved having it again. Hope to see a new one soon.

Posted by TheHakku

lol they forgot to shelter again after rebooting the SNES. No problem, megaelixir!

Ryan's right. That's just amazing music.

268620G! Great job to everyone!

I'm so glad this is over.

Guys, it kind of defeats the purpose of an endurance run when neither of you are familiar with the game and you don't switch up your team and use the different items, abilities, and strategies available. I appreciate the ability to watch someone play with fresh eyes, but this series could have been half as long with twice as much content if you'd been better prepared and weren't constantly dying and healing and saving and backtracking. You barely ever used characters other than your go-to team, you seemed to be terrified of ever using a double or triple tech (they're good) and you didn't bother to explore even half of the end-game equipment you picked up including the ones that unlock entirely new abilities. People want to see this stuff! I don't care if you don't have the time or the energy to do literally every single sidequest or whatever, but I pretty much had to tune out and stop watching once you decided that you were going to use same three attacks for the last 10 fucking videos.

What on earth was the point of any of this?

This was amazing, I loved it all... great final episode and thanks for streaming it live. I will always be a fan of Giantbomb.

Oh,man, I feel so vindicated. I called it SO early that they would never hit a brick wall because, guess what, Chrono Trigger is actually easier than most modern RPGs, despite what pseudo-nostalgic 16 year olds like to say.

Also, the mix between CT's already triumphant and emotional ending (well, this one anyway) and the genuine giddiness in the guys makes for a pretty cool moment. I liked it.

Posted by LiquidSwords

More watchable than the other ER's. They had their moments but not every episode was great. Glad it didn't get to 100 episodes, shit would've gotten stale. Ryan and Patrick did a great job.

Worth it for that final battle music. Love these endurance runs! Gotta say, it was rough at first, but they pulled it all together at the end. Thanks Ryan and Patrick.

Who started cutting onions in here?

NOTHING STOPS THE ENDURANCE RUN...

except quitting when you've seen one ending, when New Game+-ing and sequence breaking the other dozen+ endings is literally half the game.

As far as a future endurance run, I would nominate:

SNES: Earthbound

Dreamcast: Skies of Arcadia or Grandia II

PS1: Suikoden 2

PS2: Shadow Hearts: Covenant

Edited by Death_Unicorn

I didn't know Kino was a dude until now.

Also, <>. I love Endurance Runs.
