Even When it's Bragging About E3 Awards, Alien: Isolation Looks Terrifying

One part of me wishes I'd gotten to try the Oculus demo of this at the show. The other, saner part of me is just fine with me having not done that.

What a fantastic Sego logo... and then I think about it for a bit... yeah, a Sega Alien game. Hearing the podcasts where they talked about dying over and over and over again I'm going to continue to be really skeptical about this game being any good.

@gunstarred: Sega aren't making this game. Creative Assembly, the makers of the Total War series, are.

As a long-standing fan of said franchise, I can tell you, they know quality. There's always reason to be sceptic about a new IP, especially when it's new territory for a clearly defined developer. But if there's anyone who can handle this sort of migration, then it's Creative Assembly.

As terrific as this game looks, though, do we REALLY need a grain filter in every single horror game released now-a-days?

Creative Assembly are owned by Sega aren't they? The developer of strategy games making a first person survival horror game is still a good enough reason to be wary. Even Gearbox who mostly make First person shooters managed to fuck up an Aliens first person shooter.

I do think that survival horror seems like the perfect fit for the Alien franchise, as the issue with the previous games is that the Alien isn't scary when you're packing an assault rifle that seems to go through it like butter the whole time.

Also, dying over and over and over again might have to do with the fact that Brad was the one playing it.

Would be smart to release Facebookulus Rift bundled with Alien: Isolation and Star Citizen. Just sayin.

Looks great. I can't wait for October.

Also, the Oculus rift can't come soon enough.

Creative assembly know quality? That may have been true once but.. Its been quite long since they made a game that was functional before one year of patching and modding..Also if the TW AI is anythign to go by (i know apples and oranges but still) the alien will be dumb as a rock :P

Survival horror bores me. I'm glad to see an Alien game where you aren't running around shooting shit constantly, however.

I'll wait until the inevitable gameplay leaks before I consider "pre-ordering" it from GMG at a discount. I really want this to be the horror game that's source material is strong enough to keep me from pussing out after the first 4 hours. I want to believe(but I played Colonial Marines)!
