its a good thing, then, that broken steel has new content, as does point lookout AND mothership zeta.  so thats a good 3 expansions to level to 30 in.  I promise it'll be enough content for me, considering there is still plenty for me to do in the original game even beyond level 20

Agreed. Gameplay is slow and repetitive , if this game played like half-life 2 than I'm sold, so far that is not the case.

I am going to say this now: besides Rock Band 1 and 2, Fallout 3 has had the best DLC, ever. Hands down. This looks like it could be the best yet.

The GOTY edition is coming out with all five DLC's coming with it in October.

You make a good point. I don't think the aliens are likely to Parley your safe passage home, as their understanding of regional diction would be negligible at best.

Looks good. I'm buying Fallout 3 this coming week. It's strange I waited nearly a year to finally play it, but well if it sucks, at least now it's cheap.

A game for yourself. As RPG's go it's one of the best I've played in a while. And I managed to play it with zero nightmares... maybe play with an adult?

     I love fallout 3 it is one of the best games I have ever played. lots of in game quests and many hours of game play make it, by it self, a must have for anyone who likes RPGs. And the new DLC looks phnominal, new guns and new armor make me happy hahaha.

I really appreciate the variety offered by Fallout 3's many DLC packs, but that can't change the underlying structural problems which make Bethesda's RPG such an underwhelming and boring experience to begin with (lackluster combat, unremarkable graphics and stiff animations, tedious world exploration, rudimentary character development, subpar dialogue, drab voice acting etc.). Even a simplistic, casual RPG like Fable II is a whole lot more fun to actually play than Fallout 3 ever will be, and I hope Bethesda starts to realize that they can't just keep re-releasing the same old interesting-but-broken game (Arena, Daggerfall, Morrowind, Oblivion, Fallout 3).

@dillinger: actually in retrospect thats not a good decision, if anything you should've got broken steel first and then the others - in fact going through all the expansions + broken steel didnt even get me to 30, I had to grind out another few hours with high level (and set to hard diffulculty) enounters to get me to 30.  I assume when I finished Point Look out at 26-27 that if I waited til Zeta to come out I would get to 30 with it, but that doesnt make sense in terms of money and sense.  Now I dont have to get Zeta as I'm already 30, but i will if its amazing.  I think I'm done with Fallout anyways, I put like a billion hours into it and some disk content I havent seen, albeit a very small amount of stuff.

Except that going from 20-30 takes way longer than the length of a single DLC.

awesome.  i was smart, and bought the anchorage and pitt DLC's but waited on broken steel till all the rest of the DLC's came out.  now, i can level to 30 through the new content :)

That is what I am doing.  It comes out in October if I remember correctly so just a little over 2 months or so before it comes out.
