As for the video, I'm still up in the air. Other then Warhammer I have never liked PVP in any MMO as it was nothing but running in circles spamming keys as fast as possible. This looks to have a similar feel to the warhammer one, so I will certainly be giving it a go, but I think I will still be sticking to my PVE stuff for the majority of my game time. Especially now that I'm working and will only be able to give a few hours a night to the game if any at all. I'm predicting a lot of soloing/PUGing from me with this game.

Every time I watch footage of the clanky-ass combat in this game I get a little more excited for Guild Wars 2.

Man, this game looks like crap. 

So much negativity in these comments... I am excited for this game and this video just makes me wish it was already December 20th.

Any open world PvP in this game?

It would be a shame to have the guys behind Dark Age of Camelot at your disposal and not use them for what they were best at.

I know many people are not intrested in this game, but I have been since day 1. I just wish the Beta for Europe would start. Just under 2 months to launch and still no Beta, it was suposed to start in September.

This reminds me a lot of the Dredgion PVP instance in AION where you have to race the other team to the goals while meeting them at random central points on a large ship.

If you haven't played it I wouldn't judge.Before I played it I was NOT looking forward to this game and honestly thought it looked like shit.

Well I got a beta invite and damn if it isn't a really decent MMO. This and GW2 are literally the only things that will be able to -maybe- pull me back into MMOs for as long as I can see. Everything else is garbage.

There are PVP servers, just FYI....... it's still an MMO with all the MMO options you're used to.

@Xeirus: Really? I played beta and thought it was a terrible WoW clone with uninspired and ripped-off combat, quests that literally involved getting 6 cat teeth (each cat drops one tooth), and a story that was even worse than the prequels in the "makes me care about what's going on" department.

The game basically played out for me like a parody of shitty MMOs. I can't wait to see this game inevitably flop, so maybe Bioware will get their heads on straight and start making good games again.

You never played the game, barely any of the quests have you go collecting random things from enemies, and the stories are standard Bioware quality. Literally the only thing about the entire progression in this game that is similar to WoW is the combat, and even then, it's not the same, it's 50% WoW, 50% KOTOR.

This trailer doesn't even show the game being played. So you wouldn't even be able to tell what it's like. It's like if you were to watch a match of a FPS in spectator ghost camera and say it plays like shit. It doesn't even make sense. You're just hating on the game for the sake of hating on it.

All i can say is that 4 out of 4 beta previews on mmorpg.com loved the game (they played the four different Republic classes from lvl 1-15). Giantbomb seems to be a very hating community when it comes to SWTOR, I wonder if it's because Jeff doesn't like it or something. On most places people are really exited.

This one might hurt WoW. However they spend what like a movie budget making this game? They need to pull in subscribers hard and fast to turn a profit. This is a huge deal and could hurt the company if it flops.

Yeah I call bullshit on you playing beta, as I maybe had a single quest with a collection requirement like you described. The story was actually pretty decent and involved fully voiced cutscene-style interactions with almost every character. Not to mention the story is COMPLETELY depending on who you pick.

If you did actually play you must have played the into quest of a single class and gave up, and if that's the case I don't really care if you didn't like it. It's your lose, because it's either this or Guild Wars, and GW won't be coming out any time soon.

I played it and enjoyed it despite the fact that I was originally against the game (because of the shitty gameplay trailers like this one) They really need to stop making these videos. I don't say this about a lot of games, but you really do need to try this for yourself because it's hard to show in a trailer how the game plays when the trailer is trying to be all exciting and epic.

Also, MMORPG.com is a joke of a site, don't trust very much from there, you will be disappointed.

How is it terrible? MMO combat, especially PVP, can be very fun, deep and challenging. It requires a great amount of skill, much like an FPS. Know your environment, know your opponent, know yourself.

SW:TOR's combat might be crap, I havnt played it, but saying MMO combat is terrible is just pure trolling, good sir.

@CL60: @Xeirus: I took every quest handed to me and was available, and found them incredibly boring. YMMV, maybe, but I still found the game incredibly boring.

No, I don't care about violating NDA and getting banned by Bioware. I have no desire to play through WoW ever again. Why would I do it just because they added in lightsabers?
