I thought they did a good job with this trailer for the western markets, good action shots.

I Want It!!! Also.....I'm oddly sexually attracted to like 80 percent of Final Fantasy XII''s characters......Anyways, where's Versus XIII? I've Always found that One more Interesting Looking.

Typical anime-game-VO, really cheesy, and they pause mid-sentence waay more that a person would.

I'm 1/2 way through an import copy of this game and loving it... not sure if I'll be able to put up with the English dubs though. Maybe I'm just a JRPG snob.

Looks impressive, in game and CGI scenes, but I do wonder why they thought a Leona Lewis song would best represent their game.

Wow, how the fuck did Square fuck this up so bad?!  Hope sounds like a fucking idiot, Snow sounds so bland, and Lightning has no feeling.  A fucking Australian for Fang?!  She's voiced with an Indian Japanese Accent in the real version!

That song was really really bad. I was literally checking if I had some other window open that could make that noise, that I could close, so I could watch the trailer like a normal person.

That song is damn similar to Beyonce's "Halo" and a number other pop ballads

I don't think the song is bad, but it doesn't fit the trailer. If they went for a more story-oriented, emotional trailer then yeah, if they did it right, I can see the song fitting fine. Unfortunately, it just doesn't fit well with fast-paced action sequences. 
 
Still, it's not like it's going to be playing whilst your fight in the game anyway, so it's not a big deal. Overall, the VAs are pretty good. The only two I didn't quite like were the evil guy (Yaag?), and Vanille. Either way, can't wait for the game.

Well, that looked just as stupid as all the other Final Fantas games. So good work, I guess.

No options for Japanese voices and pointlessly pinning Leona Lewis onto the soundtrack? Square, WHAT ARE YOU DOING?!

More drama than a CW show, right here. 
 
I can't really complain about the voices. Yeah, it's kinda cheesy, but from what I can tell the story is appropriately cheesy, too.

Seriously the voice acting isn't bad, damn nothing would satisfy people that always complain about the english VO, it would be better to have a japanese option but frankly this is good enough

Wow... I wasn't that excited for this game until now. I though the trailer was great, but the song was WAY too loud!

Huh, the english voices are actually not completely terrible and they seem to have modified the lip sync too.  Still if the game has a japanese option I am sticking with that, I really hope it does.
 
The song was typical pop crap, why they used it in this trailer is anyone's guess. Stupidity most likely.

Looks pretty good, Leona Lewis was a pretty bad choice for the theme song, but a theme song is not going to decide the quality of the gameplay.

I think that dub sounds great. Very mature sounding voice actors, not the usual anime bullshit. I don't care if it doesn't match the Japanese, I think the english sounds much more natural coming out of the character's faces than the Japanese does since all the characters look western.
 
In regards to the song I have no problem with it. Whether fans want to admit it or not that song represents the tone of the game better than if they had used a metal song or some other wannabe-tough bullshit. Final Fantasy XIII is a hyper-emotional game,  it deserves a hyper-emotional theme song.

So wait, lemme get this straight.
You join a couple of people from a race of hard drives to save a city/culture/race that has decided to populate a bug mid-metamorphosis?

I don't mind the song, but the way it fits into this trailer is crap, and the voice acting seems pretty terrible. Way disjointed.

Dude the only reason I play Final Fantasy or any JRPG anymore is the terrible voice acting and the over the top crazy yet some how cliched story. Plus this game seems to have what Final Fantasy 12 manage to ruin - Insane summons that are actually useful. You turn in to vehicles that other characters hop on and ride as attacks. Do I need to repeat that ?

The only thing I understood from this was the guy riding a giant chicken.  I suppose that is universal.

It's an impressive attempt at using music to create a more emotionally cinematic trailer, a la film.  But somebody needs to teach these guys how NOT to have character dialogue and song lyrics playing simultaneously at the same volume.  It makes the first half of the trailer painful to watch because my brain can't focus on either.  The second half was well done, though.
