Finally: DuckTales Gets Remastered in New Downloadable Release

I just hope they are spending minimum 70% of the dev time polishing and re-polishing whatever remastered version of The Moon Theme is going in here so it adequately does justice to the original.

Hopefully they will take some queues from their Bionic Commando: Rearmed experience and go forward from there. For example, don't rework the actual gameplay and levels the way BCR did but do include toggles for original soundtrack and graphics (preferably in the on-the-fly way Monkey Island and Halo remasters did) would be appreciated. Including simple options like these will hopefully keep angry outcry to a minimum since faithful to the original as possible experience will be included.

To all of us who grew up in the late 80s that trailer hit the nostalgia bone HARD. I even got a little choked up... I fucking loved this game as a kid. I must have played and beaten it 20 or 30 times. Hey Capcom, can you also remaster Chip N' Dales Rescue Rangers? kthxbye.

Pretty crazy! If I were going to have anyone develop this remake, it would be WayForward, so pretty excited about this.

I'm a STUPID huge fan of the original game and series. I think this game looks ugly as sin and it pisses me off. WTF are they doing with that art direction? Nothing is coherent, nothing makes sense, proportions are messed up, and Scrooge himself looks like a flat bit of cardboard stuck in a Unity3D demo.

Come on WayForward, you can do so much better than this.

Pretty much every other game trailer for a remastered game I've seen has elicited a loud 'MEH' and an exasperated sigh.

I sang along, totally unashamed and out loud at my computer watching this trailer. My finacee came to see what the hell I was doing, sat down and sang right along with me.

I'm not sure if it's rose tinted glasses making me think more favourably on it than it deserves.. but I'd much rather play the original, I think. I just remember it feeling so perfect, and tightly controlled, and it looked great too. All those 2.5D games that are a thing now always look so spartan (thats what came to mind when I watched the video here), and they seldom 'control' classic.

I hate to leave a cynical and negative comment though - I still probably will buy this day one. It was the first NES game I think I actually ever finished completely, so the nostalgia is strong.

Was having a long day at work yesterday and stumbled upon this glorious news. It put me in such a good mood I could not help but grin the entire day. So fracking excited for more Ducktales!

I guess that's cool. I'm not feeling that super clean look, or the 3D. What I remember most about DuckTales is that the pixels that made up Scrooge's eyes were asymmetrical, and it bugged the hell out of me. If you fix that, you take away the one memorable thing about that game.

....No steam? Well then, I guess I'll live. Somehow. :(

This is fascinating, though I kinda wonder how well it will do. It's kinda been too long, I think, as that Ducktales analysis piece that made the rounds across the net a few weeks ago pointed out, the people who grew up during that period absolutely adore Ducktales, but it hasn't been on the air for over 20 years, the generations since have grown up with entirely different children's programming, and while I'm sure some of us who played the old Ducktales games on Game Boy or NES back in the day are sure to pick up this, I wonder if it will be enough, I'm not so sure it'll be a hit among younger gamers or Disney fans.

The song is stuck in my head now. This game will be instabuy for sure.

Now if we could get Capcom to make a Chip 'N Dale: Rescue Rangers remake.
