Fly Over Stonefield In Rift: Planes of Telara

" Apparently Trion Worlds went off the deep end and put already more than 50 million dollars into Rift's developement. No way in hell will they ever make their money back on this project. They release in the worst possible window with SW:TOR and Guild Wars 2 and WoW : Cataclysm as direct competitors. Especially since successful MMOs aren't going away, they are captivating your target audience and take them out of the free market for much longer than regular games do. Hell, I haven't even gotten enough attention to spare to even be remotely interested in Rift : Planes of Telara and I'm currently not even playing a MMORPG for serious. I know I will play both SW:TOR and Guild Wars 2 for sure and can't imagine anything Trion Worlds could do to sell me on their game over either of its competitors.  Their only chance is to go for the hardcore MMORPG crowd and that's just too small an audience to make the returns they'll need to recover their investments, which would be the very least. Worst business ever. Even more fucked up is, the game actually looks kinda good. Too bad it's doomed to fail. I feel sorry for Trion Worlds' investors. I won't be able to make your investment payoff. I'd love to, but I'll rather be playing Guild Wars 2 and SW:TOR then.  There just won't be any time and attention and money left for your game. "

its a HD wow thats more advanced and your charecter can be more uniq due to that fact that instead of a class and a spec its a class and you can choose 3 souls out a bunch tied to that class making it less likely to get a char that similar to all the others. if it was not for the fact that wow jaded me alot i would really look forward to this but since wow killed my interest in mmo's ill proberly pass on this

Fuck another fantasy MMO. Gimme an own brand MMO where you can command your own ship and your guild is the crew. Go planet hoping discovering new shit. I might settle for a Mass Effect MMO actually. Yeah. Do that!

Rift's graphics aren't bad, looks damned good for an MMO, but the best part of this video for me... was the appearance by Greg Kasavin in the ad for the Big Live Live Show Live before the trailer actually started playing.

Even though I'll never play an MMO, it's kind of fun to see them come out.  Even if they eventually suck, I like that some people are actually making them and playing them.

Would have been better if it was based on Palladium Games RIFTS RPG.

When will developers ever learn?  Untill WoW dies, don't bother with the fantasy MMO's.  Or just don't bother in general.
