Looks interesting. Gears + LOTR?

Posted by Piranesi

Still not convinced that this belongs in 2011 - it all looks curiously out-dated, blatantly sexist / misogynistic and a bit pony.

Posted by Nasar7

Still sounds like a poor man's Dark Souls.

Holy crap do those developers work in a dungeon themselves?

Posted by guypussy

Put the always-witty, never overused "uh" elsewhere in a post title, not in the middle of the game's name.

Hunted's a fast-paced game with a lot of... Depth.

Posted by Hairy_Fish

Four minutes of PR jargon...

Posted by Bulletzen

Sorry, but that looks average verging on awful. There was not one single element of gameplay in that video that looked original or inspiring.

Posted by FesteringNeon

While it doesn't look like anything special, the map editor does look pretty neat.

You know what? I'm getting this.

Blah blah blah...

It's all about the elf chick in skimpy armour anyway :P

Posted by Bumbuliuz

I had no idea that they would have a level editor.

Posted by MeatSim

They should stop trying to make there game seem deeper then it is.

Yea you guys are totally right, Let´s bash this new IP that actually looks kind of interesting.

Then let´s go cheer up the new generic COD clone, so we get all disappointed once released and complain about FPS market saturation.

This game looks interesting, but I think less Dev Diaries could help...

This is some beautiful presentation.  The attention to detail is outstanding consider it's a sprawling RPG.  Character animation is good, the combat has weight to it, and the backgrounds are stunning.  Not to mention nice touches like shimmying through tight spots and across narrow ledges.

All in all, this looks like something I'd actually play.

Strong female characters kicking ass alongside the male ones; How is this sexist?  If you mean the skin tight outfits and idealized form, just about every RPG, and almost every  video game does this.  All the male characters look like HeMan but nobody complains about that.

I hope it plays great, because it doesn't look very good.

Dev diaries just tee up their games for criticism; every one has the developers(?) talking about some completely standard part of the game as a standout feature.

DO YOU LIKE TEXTURE POP? THEN YOU'LL LURRVE SOME UNREAL ENGINE.

In all seriousness, I hope this game is alright. I'll consider buying if the reviews turn out to be decent.

Posted by Veektarius

I don't like the trend of trailers where they act like they're doing interviews only.. they're not.  Also, shots of people working with no light. Way to go authentic.

Regarding the game itself... I'm going to say that for all this focus on looks it's going to be the controls that make or break.  I can't tell if the only variation in attacks is standard light/heavy or if there's a bit of a capcom actioner combo system in there.  The more it's like  the latter, the better chance I'm giving it.

This game really looks super polished. Im impressed so far.

Posted by Xpgamer7

Game looks great and from their past products it probably plays great too. Can't wait!

Posted by doe3879

i keep getting this confused with whatever the next demon's souls game is call

Posted by mazik765

Looks cool, I'll probably pick this up :)

Man I really dislike the voice acting that they've shown so far.

Posted by guynamedbilly

This game looks like mud.  It looks like it could be fun, but just visually, it looks like mud.  Also, I wonder how productive they are with everything being black in their studio.

Posted by LethalKi11ler

Looks ok but oh my god what an awful voice acting...

I'm much more interested in LOTR: War in The North, frankly. Done by the guys who done the Champions of Norrath games <3 Also does anyone else think that Brian Fargo chap sounds a fair bit like James Woods?

Posted by S0ndor

Why would you make a video like this for a completely unoriginal new IP? Aside from the level editor it looks as bland as it gets.

Posted by rottendevice

I was not impressed by this game when playing it at PAX East.  Seemed way too generic, and the combat just didn't feel right.

I would love for inXile to change my opinion though.

Still not convinced.  Level editor looks incredibly - LIMITED -

If this were an Ubisoft joint, would it be called La Forge?

Because,you know,Star Trek,and that guy.....

Sorry, I know this post is a couple of days old, but people keep getting the "strong female characters" thing completely wrong. Strong characters are not the semi-naked impossible nonsense you find in this sort of thing. They're interesting characters that you can actually believe might exist. Being a strong character does not mean being hot but also able to beat up monsters. It doesn't refer to physical strength (which isn't to say a strong character can't possess physical might, of course).

I'm not saying I necessarily think this game is sexist, or at least any more sexist than a large portion of the other games out there, but misuse of that phrase is irritating and potentially harmful.

For a better explanation, please read this article.

Looks like a shitty Gears mod.

Nobody is going to buy it.

Edited by Egge

There must be something wrong with me, but I think this looks alright. Not a big fan of dark fantasy myself, but provided that they get the controls and enemy encounter design right this could be a passable third person action game or even better than that. That said, every professional games journalist who has ever so much as mentioned Hunted on a podcast seem to take for granted that it's going to be pretty awful, so maybe they've seen particular aspects of the gameplay (during industry events etc.) which just haven't been presented to the general public yet.

Because they can't be dismissing the game solely based on it having silly character designs and being part of a recognizable and commercially well-established subgenre, right? 'Cause that would be, like, every game ever released...
Posted by Shamanoid

This game will fail.
It has fail written all over it, in rocks, in every bit of dirt, in broken pottery, in birds....
Reasoning : Games usually show their best in such reveal videos and this game didn't show enough. Also, the close-up scene of the main character where he goes to sleep or something is very very very poor.

Posted by Cold_Wolven

I can't see this game being a hit with anyone. Fantasy fans will be insulted by the fact that the designers bastardized the genre by adding shooter elements and shooter fas aren't going to care about shooting a bunch of orcs with arrows let alone play this game when they could be playing CoD. The UE3 does not shine in this game one little bit and just feels like another bad attempt at using the engine.
