I bought Assassin's Creed IV for my 360 because I didn't want to wait, so this is pretty awesome news. I'll be picking this up for PS4.

Playing through Black Flag right now, and it's been great. Probably gonna have to pick this up once I'm done.

Uhh... why exactly? I'm struggling to think of a world in which someone who would be interested in picking up an AC4 side story hasn't already picked up AC4 proper.

Great! I think it's a fantastic piece of content that focuses less on the silly asaassins and templars, and more on human stories. Instant but for anyone who hasn't tried it.

@vikingdeath1:

apparently so, not hard for a game that practically tosses the series convoluted story line the bird.

Someone like me. I just rented Black Flag from Gamefly, so I probably will pick this up at some point. Also maybe people that borrowed the game from a friend or something. Or people that bought Black Flag, but traded it in once they were done.

Even if that's true, it's an encouraging trend. So many people passed on BioShock 2, thus missing out on Minerva's Den.

To be fair, that game was completely different in tone from the main Far Cry 3 campaign, with the focus on humour and homaging 80s action movies. I haven't played Freedom's Cry yet, but from the looks of things, it seems to have more or less the same tone as the main Assassin's Creed IV, and takes place in the same universe, so it's not quite a perfect comparison.

I skipped AC4 mainly because I just don't have time to dedicate or care to spend a full $60.
Maybe I'll pick this up to get my fill until it drops on price. I'm sure there are tons of people who are in my same boat.

Yup im in this boat. Bought Black Flag on 360 and traded it in when i was done but the DLC piqued my interest. Now I get a chance to play it if I want in shiny vision on my Xbox One.

I'm very tempted to buy PS4 for this even though I haven't owned any console since 3DO and can't be bothered to wait for PC version. Shiiiiiit I'm sold.

I passed on the DLC as i generally do not find DLC very interesting, even for games i love. However seeing the word acclaimed peaked my interest, only to be let down again after looking at reviews. Avoiding spoilers of course what makes this any different then the same old same old assassin's creed?

In saying that i do see the insane value this DLC offers for just 10 bucks.

@tim: The atmosphere of the game, arguably one of the most important parts of AC games, is markedly different than AC4's piratey/adventurey atmosphere of freedom and, well, different from the rest of the series. Playing as a black guy along with the more dramatic soundtrack makes it so you feel hunted and unwelcome. It made me realize how privileged Edward in the main game is to just be a white dude. Part of that is how the city works, what with black slaves being everywhere and you constantly being looked out for by particular slavers. It was the first time I didn't felt like I was at the top of the food chain - while I definitely was as deadly as any assassin before, literally the entire town doesn't like you.

I don't know if that's enough for a casual AC player but for an AC fanatic, it definitely was.

Because of the potential for extra sales with very little effort. You can see in this comment thread that there are people who will buy this who wouldn't have bought it as DLC for AC4. Ubisoft get to sell content to an extra pocket of people that it otherwise wouldn't have sold to as DLC.

If Ubisoft is honestly starving for whatever income this generates I don't care. It didn't feel like something that could stand on its own to me, but I had just finished playing the full $60 AC4 for SO many hours.

I'm one of those people. I'd be interested in a shorter AC experience. Don't want to get invested in some giant series of games. And maybe this gets me into series and Ubisoft wins.

@legion_: Yeah man, those feels really hit me where I live.

Also, the fact that his Assassins robes are sleeveless is just awesome! So I will more than likely be checking this out. Eventually. Even though I did tell Ubisoft to go...screw themselves. *stares at AC3 pensively*

Holding off on Black Flag until I get a XBone or PS4, but might try this out first.

I played Revolution HD before i played this one and was simply blown away. This is the most fully fetured DLC i have ever seen and a very good contrast so the ordinary AC atmosphere its pretty unique in the AC series aswell. Anyone wants a light AC adventure this is it, take a poo on revolution.

This is perfect for me. I sold black flag that i had bought for my 360 for $33 before the price would decreases and thus lost the ability to play the dlc. This allows me to play the dlc i missed as well as experience the game on my PS4 like i wanted to.

It looks interesting, I must say... even though I'm not an American nor live in the USA still. I hope to feel touched by the game. I can surely feel for the African Americans during their slave period of years because I know from the history of my country what is like to be a slave even though our was like 500 years. I only hope for Ubisoft to touch on the more controversial moments of that period
