Some interesting games there for sure. I'm pretty certain I already own Containment on Steam, so I need to give that a try.

Great overview and fantastic editing, especially the ending. Yeah, I still think that Joust thing is some nice and stupid fun and I respect that, but it seems like a complete novelty hipster toy and nothing more. I doubt the potentially significant investment for controllers will be worth it for people with a budget. Trying it for a round or two is probably quite fun and leads to the somewhat odd buzz it gets on many sites. Also if this was played drunk or otherwise altered on parties I'm familiar with people would likely die so I understand Ryan's expectations in that regard.

I like this idea in spite of its blasphemous nature!

Offspring Fling!

I played through that a few weeks ago, it is really good and plays nicely with a 360 controller. If this would have been released for the SNES back in the 90s it would have gotten decent review scores. I have gold medals on most of the levels and even some dev medals, but those times are insane. The game shows you a ghost when you are close enough to that time and on more then one occasion I was baffled watching it. You can turn down the opacity of that ghost sprite if it distracts you.

  • impressed, how many games Ryan & Drew/Vinny(?) were able to squeeze in this segment.
  • Joust guy should show Sony the finger (for NOT wanting his game) and he should find a toy maker to release a Toy and/or PC Version for this thing. It's been too long. It's playable. It's 'finished'. It's ready for E like Everyone?!!

I still don't understand the appeal of Joust, I could create the same effect by just having everyone holding a full cup of beer and trying to get them to spill some.

Seeing this game seems to be the most fun when playing with people at a party, my solution would be much quicer and easier than busting out like 7 move controllers.

Spilling beer is messy, Move Controllers aren't.

I hope that once JSJ is actually released, they'll be able to parley it into a standalone game/toy thingy.

I would love to be able to walk into a Toys R Us and pick up a big old box with 4 - 8 "controllers" and be able to play it anywhere, sans PS3.

Yeah, because spilling any kind of liquid all over the place is always the better option than not spilling liquid all over the place.

Since the best way to not spill a drink in your hand is to... well, drink it, the game part is going to wear out its welcome really fast.

The object of the game is to get the other person to move their controller too much/too quickly, not to actually drop it. If you're trying to knock it out of the person's hands, then yes, a stick would work just as well.

But the game is meant to be more subtle than that.

I don't know where this whole "spending money on Move controllers" argument is coming from. You know that there are people who already own Move controllers, yes? And those people might find a game like this amusing?

And, like, friends who ALSO own Move controllers can bring them all over and join in the game. This is a game meant to be played with the Move controller. No one is arguing that it's a reason to go out and buy a Move controller (although I'm sure there are people who would).

And sure, if there is a self-contained game that operates like this, with motion-sensitive devices that let you play the game in a similar manner, that would be cool. I don't know of any, personally. And again, we're talking about the subtle difference between not moving too much and not dropping shit on the floor.

Well I was questioning for who would this game would be but as you point out is for those who own multiple move controllers and have friends who also have them , again that subtle difference is huge when you think about a party game and for what kinda people it is (some wouldn't care if you're playing with a move controler or a not so sophisticated toy because is a party game) , to me it seems like a hastle because there's really nothing else to do with those spare move controllers other than play JSJ or the game itself unless you're having a party.
