Gotta watch out for those impossible alternating currents.

w00! This won't be the last we see of the Last Canadians thankfully!

Drew is fucking handsome.

So much tension.

Damn it, forgot this was tonight! Vods to the rescue!

Love when they start arguing about the rules, it reminds me of playing magic with my friends lol.

I wonder what sort of shenanigans Vin- VBomb put those crazy kids through This time!

Welcome to the D&D world!

(Ok, Pathfinder world!)

Too bad V-Bomb died!

Also to the Last Canadians, those heavy minis, please be careful with them. Unlike plastic, the metal minis will chip pretty easily.

This was one bloody match. The party was truly tested.

Oops. Sorry. It's not really a spoiler! They open with "And V-Bomb died and Pickle got ressurected!" as their recap.

Hmmm one mystery remains, what was all that "Blackfang" jazz or whatever Rorie was talking about in the intro to the dungeon? I guess he was talking about the dragon, but its weird for people not to know what a dragon looks like and give it a weird nickname.

What music was Rorie playing?

During the live broadcast, that seemed like just a joke. But maybe they actually are time travelers...

I'm so loving this series. Hankering for a game. We need a GB community virtual table so we can get a few games going..

Soundtrack to Total Annihilation, composed by Jeremy Soule.

I felt that Dave leaving in the middle kind of detracted from the adventure. I also agree with @rorie. If the dragon flew away it would have just been the worst ending ever. V-bomb probably would have tried to chase it down.

Oh no, Brad...

Oh! Lol yeah I just started watching it and I see what you mean lol. I feel silly now.

It's amazing how music played through a laptop's speakers recieved by a mic made the battle more intense!

Hells yeah!

@rorie: Great first quest! Could you take off the training wheels next time though? It might seem like keeping everybody alive is a good plan but running a D&D game like that would be the equivalent of playing dark souls without the part where you die. It takes the edge off.

The botch rules are also a great way to spice things up and create drama:

When someone roles a 1 on a d20 it's a sure fail but it can get worse:

when that happens role a d100:

  • 1-74 you just fail/miss
  • 75-79 you fail bad and lose a turn (that's when the DM starts coming up with the description of how badly someone messes up)
  • 80-89 you hurt yourself (DM choses how bad based on context)
  • 90-100 you hurt yourself pretty bad or die a horrible humiliating self inflicted death depending on context, how high the number is and the mood of the DM. 98,99 and 100 are usually garanteed deaths regardless of context.

Don't forget, the botch rules also applies to NPCs!

There needs to be a DM figurine for @rorie, because why not?

Posted by Dryker

Pathfinder content rules!

V-Bomb needs to miraculously come across some kind of chance-to-hit modifier. Although, when he does manage to hit, he devastates dragons!

Miniatures looks amazing!

loving the unplugged GB

I'll just say it again, those minis are so damn great.

Nice use of Boards of Canada, @rorie. Very appropriate!

When does he NOT? Even sleep deprived Drew is pretty suave.

I'd be interested to see if any of them want to get into the more complicated classes. VBOMB seems more the Barbarian type than a Fighter, to be honest.

In theory, this probably doesn't apply to this group, having the dragon flee would create an opportunity to build up an enemy throughout the campaign. So it does make sense in a way to have him fly away.

That would indeed complete the set. Some Hand of God figurine or some such.

I still would definitely buy a set if available. Though, the amount of time DragoonZero and Grafta (I hope those are correct) put in to them would fetch a hefty sum.

I wish I had Vinny around to do his character's voice always. So hilarious!

Those figurines of the last canadians are absolutely bonkers. What an amazing community this is!

Mask of the Betrayer WAS really good.

I love the Monty Python moment with Ian and Brad.

Brad: "I don't think I will be coming back after being chopped in half."

Ian: "You'll get better."

Posted by BisonHero

Haha, the moments with Brad were great. He was so dismayed.

And I really love the liberties Rorie took with the dragon encounter.

Posted by Matt_F606

This series has been great. Thanks to @rorie for DM'ing. I think Vinnyie's idea that they now take some time to scan the rules and make sure the characters are ok is a great way to move forward. With pros like Ian, Matt and Dave at the table I think they can take it to next level of rules.

Posted by parentalcon

Loved Brad's reaction: " I'm going to hell... :( " XD
