also, at that guy, I'm 18 now, was 8 when Halo came out, and still played the shit out of it.

Funnily enough, I was also eight when I first played the original Halo, but I couldn't understand where to go and what to do with the large areas (at least, that's what I remember) and I soon returned it. I haven't played it since, so this is going to be a must-buy.

This is how you do a remake, so many gamers today were too young to play or remember Halo CE so it's a great excuse for my old ass to replay some Halo this year.

I'm sorry that Kinect stuff made me laugh. I get why you would do it in Forza as a nice little addition but rotating a 3D model is not immersive at all.

Bought my copy through Amazon and I am pretty excited for it...but the Kinect stuff is a total joke...to make it any sort of selling point is completely hillarious.

... also funny, how Halo for the Halo fanboise is "the shooter" - as if there was nothing before on earlier platforms. They started playing games with their xbox, unlike some of us, and think it all started with this. ahaha

I still remember receiving an original Xbox and a copy of Halo: Combat Evolved for Christmas back in 2001. I can't wait to experience this game all over again with those gorgeous graphics.

Not boring if you're actually interested in the product. They showed off quite a bit of footage that hasn't been in any other videos, as well as detailed some of the new features. Also found the behind-the-scenes talk interesting.

Also not pricing this at full price was the smart move. That is how HD remastered or collections with 2-3 games should work, $39.99 max.

Those cut scenes look sick. I don't think I've ever played a remake like this before. I've played HD versions and reboots but never something quite like this. The more I see of this the more I want to play it. Also, I love Halo. There. I said it.

Oh god jesus. Paused the video just to say I'm so fucking glad they changed the Chief's armour from the original E3 presentation. It looks amazing now and much closer to the original H:CE boxart than ever before.

It kind of was 'the shooter' as far as consoles go. Think back to how FPS games played before Halo and it's not pretty. Goldeneye was a great game despite its limitations, while Halo sort of pushed those limitations and made way for the modern console FPS. I don't think anybody makes the claim that is was the first FPS to be done on consoles, just the one to popularize the modern way of doing things.

I think the last two dev diaries I enjoyed were the early-ish footage of BioShock (the game changed a lot since then, made worse IMO) and the DVD from the steelbook edition of Halo 2. That was so good.

I'm glad to see they are putting a lot of effort into this. The graphics switching in particular is really awesome.

@Sooty: Wish I still had my Halo 2 steelbook. Somehow it got misplaced during a move. Agree though, that was some good behind-the-scenes stuff.

I was pretty excited when this was first announced, as I thought the multiplayer was going to be identical to Combat Evolved in terms of gameplay. Then I learned it was just Halo Reach with remade CE maps (and not even all of them).

Wow they were really selling it hard at the end there.  I'm not even a Halo fan and I wanna pick this up eventually.  Less a matter of money and more time... I have 3 new games to play this week alone >_>

Was I really 18 and finishing highschool when this first came out? Back in my day we didnt have no fancy XBL or PSN and played our console multiplayer with 3 others...in the same room!

Yeah, that's totally what everyone wanted. Everyone got together on the weekends to LAN up Xboxes so they could play campaign co-op. No one gave a shit about the competitive multiplayer. Right.
