Goldeneye Gets a Makeover

can it ever beat the original .the original always seems better in the minds eye .then when you pop the cart  in.  man i thought it looked better

Swapping out Brosnan was a bad move but leaving Sean Bean out as Trevelyan is just awful!

It just seems to me like they are trying to put lipstick on a pig with this game.

@This_Dude Yeah I think the game looks great.  If you are a fan of the old golden eye game (which I played countless hours of with friends) then this is a wonderful step into nostalgia.  Its doing everything I hoped it would do, redo the single player, rework the multiplayer, and not try to update things too much.  I loved the feel of the old Golden Eye, I'm glad they kept it in that era instead of trying to make it something like what CoD has become.  That would have been ashame.

Is this technically a retcon?

meh people looking at the graphics when graphics were never what made that game good in the first place. Also even thought he game is super old I wish they wouldn't give away the big plot twist during a promo video. I mean I would like even a small chance for the new generation to experience GoldenEye (that is if they pull it off)

Congratulations, you have made a 13 year old game look like a 7 year old game. 

this game look completely terrible i dont hold up the original goldeneye with the same level of esteem as other but even to me this is a disgrace to its legacy

GoldenEye had nothing on Perfect Dark's weapon choices. 
Pssh 25 weapons. Try 42 weapons, nearly each of them with an alternate firing mode.

I hope the finished product looks a LOT better than that.  GE was the Halo of its day, and it looked really good.  This just looks like a 10 year old game.

The graphics look sketchy, even for a wii game.

This trailer would interest me in 2002.    It looks archaic now, like they resurrected some developers that haven't seen any games since 2001.
 
It's saddest for the Wii.  The machine is already home to mass quantities of shovelware and direct ports of old games, and this game takes that trend to ludicrous extremes.....a sequel to a 1997 game, with 2002 technology, in 2010.

God, whoever organised the marketing for this needs to be shot. In the nipples. With salt.

If I see one more video for this game I'm going to shoot myself... plus the 006 character looks stupid. 

"Enormous" is not an accurate description for 25 weapons when you consider the countless variety of firepower in Borderlands. Also, why is the guy in the bathroom stall pooping with his pants up? Maybe the villains in this game wear diapers.

Man, those graphics look like the N64 version.  Is that for the nostalgia effect?

No, I will not "get my friends" now that Goldeneye is back. 
 It still bothers me that people are using a free recital for Wii shooters rather than a fixed-screen one.

I wanted to make fun of something in this trailer, but I'm too sad now that I've actually watched it.

I'm intrigued by the idea of "reimagining" a Bond story that has already been told, and then "re-imagined" once before with the original GE game.  I don't hate the idea, despite my impulses to dismiss it out of hand as a shallow attempt to cash in on a beloved classic name. 
 
However, if they were going to do it, I wish they'd have given it the full treatment and made it a proper X360/PS3 release too, like the other upcoming Bond game.  Those Wii graphics look fucking awful, and are not a proper device for telling an atmospheric "real-world" story.

Definitely won't be as good as the original.

TBH, I'm not sure how the game looks because i was distracted by quite possibly the worst sales pitch i have ever seen.   
 
Wow guys, can you cram some more meaningless buzz words into your interviews?  Boss characters, you say?  Choices, eh?  And stealth! 
 
And I really couldn't believe how he just laid the plot out like that.  Not that anyone is coming to GE for the story, but its presented in an incredibly awkward way.

The only thing this game does is make me want to plug in my N64, call up a few buddies and run some Goldeneye.

I'm glad they didn't replace Sean Bean with Mr. Bean. But how cool would Rowan Atkinson be as a Bond villain, eh? No Austin Powers yukking around, a real deal Bond villain. "
