From Double Fine's website:

Hack ‘n’ Slash will be released for Windows, Mac, and Linux on Steam and DRM-free in the first half of 2014. It will include algorithms.

Look very similar to this FPS game idea... Could be fun!

Every product should have a rap song to sell it.

Looking forward to this, I enjoyed playing the prototype they put out a while ago. Also this trailer is pretty great.

Oh boy, the return of the zelda rap.

Now that is a trailer!

I just love Double Fine so much. Those who didn't back any of their games are missing out on some crazy charming nerdly goodness. Hours and hours, even. Made by 2player productions, same people who did Penny Arcade the series.

This is the quintessential video game commercial for me:

Okay. I'm in.

Posted by 01wilsonj

That looks fucking ridiculous!!! :-)

Posted by ripelivejam

does double fine typically make like a hojillion games at once? (not that i'm complaining...)

Posted by tourgen

Hahahah great. Great.

Posted by BigD145

FBI, getting all the free games ahead of release.

Posted by WalkmanBoy

down with Zelda from the very start

I got the heart and smarts to play the part

d-d-down with Zelda

Posted by edeo

I'll believe it when I see it. Double Fine games always look awesome in theory, but are underwhelming in practice.

Yes, they switched to that model after Brutal Legend tanked.

Sadly, I agree completely. I love hearing about DF games but never have as much fun playing them.

Is doublefine relating the FBI to pirates?!?!

Posted by Robopengy

This commercial is great, but I played this at PAX this past weekend and WOOF. It is not very good.

According to a DF staffer I met at the booth (who's name escapes me at the moment) they're going to put it up on Early Access on Steam next month.

Posted by StarvingGamer

I dunno, it's a clever idea but the prototype from Amnesia Fortnight wasn't that "fun". I'll be interested to see how they flesh out the hacking mechanics and make them engaging.

Great commercial though.

Posted by mnzy

The idea seems funny, but I don't buy early access games and Double Fine has three or four of those right now...

Is Double Fine just new Twisted Pixel?

Yeah, of the Amnesia Forthnight games, I only really liked Brazen, but that one seemed to get canned entirely.

Oh man, I'm not the only one.

I play and buy EVERY Double Fine game. And while I appreciate the humour/art design, I always find them a chore to actually get through. Here's hoping this one is different.

.... Wait a minute... *Looks at calender.* yeah... It's still 2014. WHat?

Posted by Paindamnation

Double fine was twisted before pixel.

Its young Vanilla Ice and Marky Mar

Posted by Robopengy

@sup: It was a very, very slow start and the hacking was awkward, unclear, slow, and not a lot of fun. I don't mean to bag on Double Fine because I love their stuff, but I dunno about this! D:

Posted by BBQBram

But will my parents help me hook it up?

Posted by CornBREDX

Ahh. Good old 90s video game commercial references.

Lovin' it.

Hey there, Trenched Iron Brigade was a video game first and a charm-delivery system second. It was also a tower-defense game, to be fair.
