God, I hope this is good.

Nothing more terrifying than those textures. Yikes.

I guess I maybe just jumped to the conclusion, but I thought the whole hook of this game was that it was survival horror in terms of you being captured by a real(ish) kind of serial killer. Giant monster arms, blood-filled hallways, and pyramid box head, seem to argue otherwise.

Damn. I was more excited about the game that, apparently, only existed in my head.

PsychoBreak looks promising.

Mental asylum: check.

Cabin in the woods: check

Haunted manor: check

Terrible graphics: check.

Meh this kind of horror doesn't really do much for me. I think more subtle horror is generally better.

I came for the weird zombie boobs. I was not disappointed

I'd like to think the stupid statement of ''There's something wrong with this place'' is a coy reference to Jill's line in the original Resident Evil of ''There's something wrong with this house''. Given the many other references to Mikami's Resident Evils, I wouldn't put it past them.

Also, yeah, this game unfortunately isn't much of a looker. But hopefully it'll manage to pull off some appropriately nasty atmosphere all the same. The Souls games on consoles have never been graphical powerhouses but could always still look rather fetching all the same, while they also successfully portray a sense of place.

On topic, this game looks a bit rough but I really like how it reminds me Silent Hill/ Resident Evil/ and maybe a bit of Deadly Premonition. I really do hope the story is good, I like what've seen so far.

Hey if Shinji Mikami is involved then I'm in on day one.

So, is the game no longer letter-boxed? That was the thing that really put me off from past footage (because why would anyone want anything to be letterboxed?), but if it's proper 16:9 (like everything should be), then I'm back on board.

Please have better gunplay than Resident Evil post action game era. (4+)

I don't know.. While not the best graphics I have ever seen, the graphics looked good enough to tell it's story. What else do you need?

Otherwise, I think the game looks interesting, might be a purchase for me.

For some reason, there is almost nothing that makes me cringe quite so much as the idea of a slice to the achilles tendon

If the combat is on par with Resident Evil 4 then I am probably down for this game.

To be fair, they're only acting as publisher. They dont have their sticky mitts on the development.

I had a fantasy version of this game in my head too. I don't know why I was expecting more than what seems to be a carnival of cliché horrors. But hey it might still be fun!

As much as I'm looking forward to this, I couldn't help but groan at the mention of another Mental Hospital.

I don't get it..didn't it look better in an old gameplay video I saw? I guess that happens often enough and is possible. Was really grossed out by some of the textures mainly because in my head the game had looked much better but now I'm not sure it actually did. I still love everything else that seems to be going on atleast.

If "The Evil Within" just turns out to be a better looking "The Suffering" I will be A.O.K. with that. Sadly, "The Suffering" does not hold up technically, but it had some awesome heavy-metal-horror hooks in it.
