I see glimpses of R&C animation in the trailer (mostly their head movement). I don't know what to think of this discovery... other than disappointment over not seeing a new, proper, R&C game.

Blah blah, the artstyle blah blah etc (still not a fan) They should have put this trailer out before any of those previous videos as it's looking pretty good from a gameplay perspective. I think some of the faces look like shit though.

Personality successfully removed, but they didn't really highlight the Fuse weapons either. Looked like a bunch of bullets to me. Guess I'll wait for more gameplay before judging

They're doing character focused trailers, this one is for Dalton.

Hmm... Sounds like they recast him. He sounded like David Kaye (Nathan Hale, Clank) in the Overstrike trailer, and the original Fuse one I think.

@Scorch: I know right?! Thing lost all the flair from its art direction, which is especially tragic since it was Frank Quitely's. Looks like this got executively pushed into a more worn path of scifi 3rd person shooters leaning on tropes from previous franchises.

real talk... I actually did not know John Ritter was dead until right now.

This is one step away from looking incredibly generic. It's a shame because the other trailers were really promising.

I wish 'em the best standing out in the market, because this doesn't look half as distinct as R&C or Resistance. Even if it plays better than a Borderlands, this seems destined to be lost at retail.

Um....didn't this game used to look ridiculous and cartoony? I liked it better when it was, giving this one a pass.

Generic: The Game

Man, what a disappointment. The original Overstrike trailer looked awesome back at E3, but I guess too many people were comparing it to The Incredibles. How terrible it must be to have your work compared to something Pixar made.

It's like the only artstyle that publishers think will sell anymore is gritty greyscale, and that sucks! Ratchet and Clank, Jak and Daxter, even Sly Cooper, were great and popular games. I hate how cartoony games seem too risky to put money into nowadays!

I'd still rather play Overstrike.

A damn shame about the artstyle, really. I seem to remember EA making the call to alter the art style of Shadows of the Damned, too. This makes even less sense because

Borderlands.

Yupp. I'd imagine Insomniac already knows this with all the damage control that they've had to do, so hopefully they have something up their sleeves.

This just looks like a generic EA shooter, complete with shoehorned multiplayer, pre-order "bonuses", and let's just assume buggy Origin login & crappy day-0 DLC. Keep crapping these out EA maybe you'll get back on the NASDAQ 100.

I'm surprised it looks so similar to the original concept video after that last (super uninspiring) gameplay video.

I don't like art styles, so I don't care about that old version. However, I think that there is a limited market for lighthearted shooting in a semi-realisitc world.. you kinda have to go all out (as in borderlands) to get away with it.

If there's a PC version down the line, then maybe.

It's so generic to the point that it's hard to believe Insomniac are the ones making this game. R&C oozes cartoon-like charisma and even the Resistance games have a good, distinguished design the series' antagonists.

Hope you all like quick-time events, because that game looks scripted as all hell.

So having never seen anything else this I thought the facial animations looked odd until I saw the original more cartoony trailer. They still look odd but at least they make sense knowing that they were made for a different art style.

how? it was damn near 10 years ago.

anyone else notice one of the preorder bonuses pretty much gives you a game-breaking advantage, "more damage."

The animation and characterizations look pretty good.

We'll see, Insomniac... We'll see.
