After the Arkham games came around, I've just lost interest in these altogether.

@ajroo: Blue guy is Electro, that's what he looks like in the new movie, and the recent cartoon has him like that (not sure if he is in the comics like that?). But man I hate that new Electro, give me the yellow lightning bolt mask any day. that's when villains were fun!

@narficacid: Oh, sure, I played the hell out of it back then too. Even still have the shirt I got from preordering it at Gamestop. :V

But other than the open world stuff it just wasn't very good, and even those side missions kinda sucked. Tracking down balloons and delivering pizzas and whatever. I also just looked at reviews to see if it was mind-blowing back then, but it seems even at the time they had the same consensus of "rad web-slinging, kinda boring everything else".

tbqh Ultimate Spider-Man is a far better game.

They just need to make a full Spider-man Noir game. Everyone knows that was the best part in Shattered Dimensions, even if it was a blatant ripoff of Arkham Asylum. Not to say the other parts of S.D were terrible - far from it - just that the Noir parts were clearly the best.

**Edit** Whoops, I made a major faux pas by not including the dash in Spider-man's name.

That's actually a pretty cool take on Kraven.

Usual Spider-Man features : Main missions will suck, combat will still suck and have weird animations with shallow mechanics and the only forgiving and mildly amusing thing will be the web-swinging.

Looks alright. How about letting Rocksteady make a Spiderman game...?

Spent countless hours in Spiderman 2. Though spent a few much time on pointless activities like saving kids balloons.

The premise is interesting but I could give a rat's ass about the story if the swinging still happens in mid-air and webs hook on to nothingness. How has every game since spider-man 2 managed to get swinging so much worse? Oh yeah, the guy who designed the mechanic left and is doing kickstarter and treyarch went to call of duty.

The problem with these Spider-man games is that they aren't really going anywhere. We've been slinging around cities for ages now, and no new title really adds something extra. Graphics are always mediocre, mission structure pretty much unchanged, mechanics pretty standard. Nothing really warrants another one of these coming out from an artistic/creative point of view. The only reason it happens is the strong franchise name.

I would call it "SLIDERMAN-the web of boredom". Since SPIDERMAN is not SPIDERMAN anymore I have a feeling that Justin Bieber works under the mask. Since the loss of creative contribution by amazing director Sam Raimi this franchise can´t be saved.

Spider-Man 2 is the true predecessor to Just Cause 2, as far as i'm concerned. Have hope for this one, because there's no reason a Spider-Man game couldn't be pretty great if they put some real time and effort into it.

@larrydavis: Then may I say...as an admitted Spiderman 2 fanboy..."Spiderman 2 had outstanding web-swinging mechanics hampered by a obviously rushed and ill thought out story mode." However, I've clocked in about 70 hours with that game swinging around New York and stopping random crimes as Spidey. When I had a rough day at work, I'd come home and unwind by doing some virtual good.

That game probably saved my sanity the summer of '09. It's just a pity that "completing" that game was a pain in the ass. There are still times I refer to the final story mission when talking to people about bad game design.

Please webs stick to buildings, PLEASE WEBS STICK TO BUILDINGS! Please.

I was wondering, do Beenox take feedback from players? Listen to fans? Any kind of social media interaction? Or are they stuck year in, year out with their heads down just making the next Spiderman game for god knows what reason?

Hmmm. Not sure if Kraven being Peter's mentor works for me. I mean, I'm sure some may point towards Ra's being Bruce's mentor in Batman Begins, but that worked for me because there was always a surrogate father/son dynamic to them.

It could be interesting, though.

Is Kraven even on the cards for the new movie? I haven't been paying attention.

What was the weird blue guy at the end? Is that supposed to be Jamie Foxx as Electro? It looked like Dr Manhattan's and Raiden's from Mortal Kombat, love child. Now, afterwards, i keep thinking there was something fish-like about him, too.....but my imagination sometimes goes kablooey this late at night.

Nightmares here i come......

I really enjoyed the first Amazing Spiderman game so I'm looking forward to this. While the web swinging was one of the most simplified yet it was kinda nice to just hold a button and swing around with ease plus the combat was a nice take on the Arkham style.

I feel like every time someone says Spider-Man 2 was good, it should be auto-filtered to "its web-swinging mechanics were great".

Because god damn the actual missions sucked.

Spiderman 2 for xbox/ps2. That was the good one. Rip off the controls and physics from that, make another game around them, you win the prize.

I swear to god if this game has fucking webshots that connect to the moon or to clouds or whatever, I will be pissed. You let that half-assery into a Spidergame you have automatically disqualified yourself for the prize. D:

@masonl87: I thought it was rather good. The only thing I didn't like was that no one from the movies was in it.

My roomate's friend makes $35,000 a year at Beenox. He has been working 16-hour days six to seven days a week since 2009 making the same Spider-Man game over and over. Check This Out ... www.activision.com

Almost every game that comes out on a console/PC as well as a handheld turns out to be terrible. I'm still hoping this will be good, though. The last Spiderman game I liked was that one on PS1 and N64.

If there is one thing I can't forget from Ryan Davis doing a quick look it is that you have to pronounce it as THE AMAZING spiderman.
