I was hope'n for a stealth game that didnt use the normal tropes. This is looking like a balls to the wall action game with "new" tec game play. I'm still in but I hope its not this crazy all the time. Is your guy a tec ninja?

This is the Gun of the next generation except it won't be complete trash. Making this game on all platforms is just going to limit the scope of the gameplay.

This looks like it could be one hell of a sandbox to play around in. I wonder what your limits will be as far as the hacking goes, so far it looks like you can hack just about EVERYTHING.

Clock speeds and number of cores are not necessarily useful points of comparison when talking about vastly different chip architectures. Examples include Nvidia vs ATI/AMD video cards, significantly lower clock speed multicore processors that are much faster and more efficient than the highest clocked Pentium IVs of the past, and lower clocked dual-core consumer Intel processors that were faster than the 360's 3.2ghz triple-core CPU.

I'm wondering if the PS4's processor is a result of joint development with IBM, like Cell was?

Nobody really plays games on a PC. They spend all of their time buying new hardware, adjusting the settings, downloading mods, and then complaining on Internet forums about console ports and technical settings.

I seriously hope that was actually a random event, and not a scripted scene like most other games. It looks interesting nonetheless, but I just hope we get ACTUAL random events for once.

About the shooting cop cars thing, the guy's clearly both an assassin and an identity thief. Not exactly citizen-of-the-month material.

you'd think they'd pick someone to do the voice over who doesn't have an unusual accent/speech impediment, deciphering what he's saying detracted from the trailer.

I saw that too, except it made me wonder if the game's writing was going to be that cliched all the way through. It could only have been more cliched if he'd gotten into a Hummer. Hopefully the writing will be more subtle than that.

ugh. i wanted to watch this in glorious HD, then the developer started talking over it. couldn't make it more than 30 seconds in. sigh.

Clock speed isn't the best measurement of CPU power -- the efficiency of AMD stuff has always let it hang around Intel, even with lower clocks.

I'm getting a real rougelike sense out of this game, based on how all the different systems interact with each other.

The early (pre-conference) talk about the hardware of the next gen systems sounded like they would just be an $80-150 upgrade for my 2010 PC. The rumored CPU didn't sound all that impressive (and they didn't talk about what clockrate or how many cores it had during the conference), but after it became clear they use 8GB's of GDDR5, I'm not so sure about that. That stuff is expensive and I don't know about any consumer grade motherboards that use or even support that, so that'll probably keep up with high end PC's for several years. Obviously we'll be in the same situation we're in right now in another 7 or so years, but I don't think the memory will be the issue with this machine (like it was throughout the entire cycle of this generation - 512MB wasn't much even in 2005 and the PS3 could only use 256MB out of those 512 if I recall correctly, that shit's been devastating to developers), but the CPU worries me a little, 1.6 ghz doesn't sound like much, even if it is 8 cores. That sounds like a potential issue down the line, it's not like consumer grade 3ghz 8 core CPU's are prohibitively expensive today.

Game looks amazing. Stopping the train like that and riding it to escape. That was some slick shit.

I am extremely interested in this. I am just a little worried the dynamic content might simply devolve into something extremely repetitive, kind of like the random events in Red Dead. However if I could somehow destroy the life of a pro-life tobacco executive (other than just ripping off his bank account for $400) that'd be rad!

The graphics don't look that intense but the animations and the ideas of the game are really good and sound fun I hope they will polish the game a lot, so it will have as little open world jank as possible.

Wow, I didn't realize this wasn't playing on a PS4. That's a bit of a let down, honestly. Not that I won't be picking it up on the PC anyhow.

The game looks great. Of course, it's multiplatform and wasn't even playing on a PS4 for the demo. Sure, the hardware is "close" to a PS4. Alright. Whatever.

I'm just a little frustrated that there was some misleading on this one. Be up-front in the moment. Especially for what turns out to have been the best game demo in the whole set.

Nevertheless, if this is pretty much what it's going to look like on the console, then the PS4 is going to be decent hardware. But I'm too used to seeing PC visuals. There was nothing about it that really screamed next-gen to me. You've ruined me, PC hardware. I may switch back.

Why were the cops chasing him if he helped apprehend a criminal? Also, why did he just flip from helping take down a bad guy to shooting at cop cars?

so this guys some sort of vigilante using surveillance equipment to catch criminals and what not, but disables the squad cars that were going to pick up the criminal he knocked out and making them agro him instead? this dude is worse than fucking Batman ><

The water looked amazingly impressive, and the detail of the bricks and stones on the ground is really something else. Reflections in the puddles, the cloth tech on the trenchcoat (the distinct lack of clipping, to be precise), the smoke and sparks from ruptured pipes and electronics, it all looks very good.

I am down for an assasin creed style of game set in the modern times or in the future.

Actually ubisoft would be wise to maybe do a futuristic setting for the next assasins creed game. Another possibility could be game set during world war 1.

Then again Napoleonic wars would also be an interesting period of time to cover along with the russian revolution (the one where the czar got overthrown).
