Here's a Brief Look at the Making of Deus Ex: Human Revolution Director's Cut

@captainantonius: I just bought it for the PC expecting to get those changes... oh well.

Pretty cool, but I'd like to see what's going on with the television when you're doing all your menu surfing on the gamepad.

Do they do anything better than a pause menu that says "Please look down at your controller."? If not, what's the point? I want to see the HUD on the controller and a nice big FOV on the tv with none of the normal clutter.

Anyway, the game does look a little prettier and improved boss fights are welcome. If I ever get a Wii U I'll have to check this out.

Thank you for rewarding the many thousands of fans who helped make Deus Ex: Human Revolution a big success by re-releasing an improved version exclusively for a new console that most of those supporters do not have yet.

Any chance they fix the garbage boss fights in the regular ass version?

Damn, I thought this might be something exciting, I presume the majority of their time was spent working out how to make load times exponentially longer.

Changing the boss fights is a big plus. On the other hand this is coming out on WiiU which probably means that the game will be a disappointment when it comes to the amount of copies that they manage to sell.

This is also a game that came out almost 2 years ago. Are there really a lot of people out there who havent played it?

Same thing is being done with Dragon's Dogma, Dark Arisen; basically RE-Release the same game a year or two later, give it some additional content and critical fixes, BUT don't update the original and call it a new full retail game instead...

I'm okay with all sorts of pay for DLC and micro transactions but this is a new level of BS. I hope this kind of practice crashes and burns. I sure as hell won't be paying full price again—even if i get stealth boss fights—OR buying a WiiU for this.

One thing is paying the price for a director's cut of a movie, another is paying a full retail price for a video game... Whatever happened to patching your shit and rewarding loyal customers?

They don't have to show wonder if next big thing they release people like me are going to wait to fork out their money for the "real" director's cut version (Thief 4 i'm looking at you).

I'd be half as mad about this if i got a patch for the game i've already paid for and still own to this day. This just encourages second hand trading, or even worse piracy.

And don't come and say this is special because of the WiiU controls.... Other platforms differ in that sense also.

I really hope these changes make it to PC, but it seems doubtful. I'm guessing it's a pretty safe bet that Nintendo paid or offered some kind of incentive for an exclusive version. I've oft thought about replaying the game and it would be nice to do so with am improved version.

Please just be a timed exclusive.

Hope this turns out to be a good port. Wouldn't mind giving it a spin on the WiiU.

This is pretty cool, Human Revolution is a decent introduction to the series for those who haven't played the previous games, so it's a much more natural starting point than, say, Mass Effect 3, Assassin's Creed 3 or Arkham City, that for some reason are also on the Wii U.

Wouldn't mind HD ports of the first two games though, or the ability to play the PS2 Classics release of Deus Ex 1 on my Vita.

Not really a making-of-video, more of a flat-out advertisement.

All I'd want from a directors cut of this fun game is, more future cities to explore & have some small missions in and mostly better boss fights that fit the rest of the game. Been thinking of going through this again once I get my 360 disc back from a friend who really needed to play it.

I heard that they are fixing the boss fights, which I remember was a big criticism. If they are actually developing for the WiiU this is a good thing.

I really loved the game and I already got the collector's edition but I'm wondering if I should get this as well... Oh well, I guess I'll see how I feel when it comes out

I don't have a Wii U, and I've already played Human Revolution, but if I got a Wii U, I wouldn't hesitate getting this. I am excited for it; I want to see what's done to it and see how it has improved.

The core game is already quite good from what I've heard. So if the visuals and performance are at least on par with the current version it will be quite alright. It is exactly the latter I am concerned about.

That they're making a superior game for an inferior platform. So that in the end its not the best version of the game and nobody will be able to play the best version. Getting the directors cut on PC would give at least one platform the best version.

At least give me the non-botched boss fights as DLC for the game I already payed for, ya dingus.

Injustice Is the very same game essentially, with few online features cut, cause Nintendo's approach to online play just sucks generation after generation. I think it looks a tad worse (probably lower res) than the Xbox360/PS3 version, but it plays way more smooth, and the loading times don't seem that much longer or longer at all (looking at jeffs twitter).

This game however will be probably bad, considering they're rumbling about the controller again and all the amazing things it can do instead of focusing on the core game.

if by considerably worse you mean runs better than on PS3 and is missing one (granted, key) feature from the online mode, then yea ...

but wait, how does this have anything to do with deus ex?

Nice to see some effort done to make a late-port special.

While S-E has said otherwise, I can't imagine that the director's cut won't be available to other platforms some time after the Wii U version is released.

This could be a good reason for me to unpack my WiiU thing from storage. I have not charged the controller in about 3 months. I should probably do that.

Gimme a PC version of Director's Cut, and I'll be on board. Hopefully not every change of importance relies on the Wii U controller.

With the Injustice game being considerably worse on WiiU than 360/PS3. I really hope the directors cut comes to PC as well..

The Wii U boxes still look like Blu Ray boxes to me.

All I really want are for the enhancements to come to the PC version :/

I really enjoyed this game. Good news for Wii U owners!

edit: Although, it's a shame that no other version of the game gets the new boss fights; those encounters were easily the weakest part of Human Revolution.
