They forgot the part with Electric Center.
Also that looks like an older build of the game.

The more I see of this game the less I want to buy it. I really enjoyed the first one but seeing people play the beta and this video is really turning me off. There's no charm like the first one

Love the idea and I'm very tempted but this looks a little janky (like when he's telling the employees to get on the ground) and lacks effort (same voice telling you to get the drill over and over). I've seen that this is a 40 dollar game which I guess excuses some of the lack of extravagance. Will probably still pick it up on sale provided I have friends playing it.

I just read something a few minutes ago that the studio has covered their costs from pre-order revenue. That's fucking bananas and awesome. I've played a little bit of the beta and am looking forward to the full release.

I also have a beta invite to give away if anyone is interested. MEssage me here or on Steam at mhoerig.

Been playing the beta for a couple of weeks now - it's a ton of fun. The thrill of successfully pulling off a "stealth" heist, is awesome, and requires a lot of coordination.

The AI is still a bit derpy, and there are several bugs that will need to be worked on, but I can't wait for the full release.

Also, the music and weapon sounds are fantastic. Weapons were kind of flat in the first game, but now they sound like they came right out of "Heat".

Such a strange niche game, its got a horrible pickup game good luck getting randoms to follow any sort of plan. PD1 was hacked to shit and full of exploiters shortly after release and the company didn't give a shit about fixing the issues, so you'd have one guy doing all the killing with unlimited ammo and unlimited gizmos and running on ahead of everyone ruining the entire game.

I wish they could resist the temptation once--just once--of the big, crazy shootout to show me what getting in and out without killing anyone or firing a single bullet looks like. That's the only way I'll buy this game. If they seriously can't show one successful, nonviolent heist, then they're obviously going for something that I don't want.

They just have this fundamental misunderstanding of what made Heat an awesome movie. It wasn't the big shootout. It was the tension. That big shootout was only impactful because you knew those guys were professionals who normally get in and out without killing a single person. That's what made Waingro such a loose cannon--he was willing to shoot people. He was dumb. So when you get to the big shootout that spills into the streets, it's impactful because you know how bad this is going to get. And sure enough, multiple guys in the crew die. That's why they don't like to get in shootouts.

To see these developers miss the mark again and again is so frustrating. If you screw up and trigger the SWAT team and a firefight breaks out, it should be fucking hard. Not all of your team should make it back alive. You should fear an alarm being sounded, not just shrug and whip out your AKs.

Not pictured: The 30 minutes in between the alarm and the vault opening, spent shooting endless waves of suicidal cops prolonged by the team forgetting to restart the drill.

@whatisdelicious: I don't know if there are any you can do without killing ANYONE, the one that most people can do stealthily, Jewelry Store, usually still requires the guard in the front to die (even if you melee, it counts as a kill).

I've never seen a successful Bank stealth run.

They aren't just making Heat: The Game.

As someone who has been playing the game for a couple of weeks now, it IS tense as fuck when you're trying to pull off a quiet heist. And when you're playing on Overkill difficulty, it DOES get completely insane on most maps after a while. When you're trying to be ghosts, and you hear an alarm, you go "AH FUCK!", and get ready to fight. Trying to control a crowd of people without anyone hitting an alarm or using their cellphone, can be really hard. The music is specifically designed to create the kind of tension in Heat.

They don't make it completely insane to fight the police, but they do get difficult after a while. If the object was all stealth all the time, this would just be Rainbow Six. One of their skill trees is specifically built for combat, while the others are at least partly to help do things stealthily.

But some missions are smash and grabs at stores. Some are you being pulled over by the cops, and having to fight to stay alive until a driver comes to get you. One is you loading coke onto a boat, while cops are coming from all sides. One has you making meth in a meth lab, while the DEA are invading the house.

You CAN finish missions with people dying, and sometimes I've been in missions where we didn't take all of the loot because it just got too hot, and we couldn't do it. You usually have to revive someone at least once on the highest difficulty. This game has missions and design elements that are very evocative of Heat, but that isn't all it is.

I can confirm that it's possible to complete some missions without firing a bullet, or almost anyone even knowing you were there. One missions has you rob a nightclub, and you can drill the safe and everything, with no one the wiser. And you do grit your teeth a bit, hoping no one fucks it up.

I've managed to pull off 100% stealth with pickup groups. Just a case of getting people who will listen.

If pulling off a perfect heist requires the bank manager inexplicably leaving a back door unlocked to take a smoke break and be followed immediately by the main guard, then I'm not sure this game is for me. But I'm trying to keep an open mind.

@scotto: See, that's what I want them to start showing off about this game, but they keepshowing generic shootouts instead. I'll say though, as cool as a premise as "pulled over by the cops" sounds, the way they treat cops like these disposable soldiers is what ruins it for me. It's that bodycount. If a crew of four bankrobbers killed 50 cops, it'd be a terrorist attack, not a heist.

Hearing the music at the end kind of makes me wish they turn a cyberpunk game such as Syndicate into a heist game. And make it a stand alone expansion game like Farcry: Blood Dragon

I've never seen a successful Bank stealth run.

Saw one one youtube a while ago. It can be done, but it's very hard.

The game is actually awesome, but the unexploited potential is still enormous. There's a lot of tention during the phase before you're assaulted, but that's usually how it'll end up. This is not a stealth game. Heck, even when you 'stealth' you're probably killing people, like in the opening of this video.
