Here's Final Fantasy X/X-2 HD Remaster in Action

Want to play this just to see how it holds up. FFX is still the only FF game I've actually ever gotten into.

Get it out already! I've postponed my third replay of this game since it's coming out in a shinier version, and I'm tired of waiting :P

This game still looks totally fine in its original form. It's one of the best (if not the best) looking games from the PS2. Aside from the ability to play it without having to plug in the old console, I don't see much point in this.

Lulu's lulus finally get the definition that they deserve.

They were bad FF games. Why would anyone remaster them?

Can't wait to play this in full speed and not the slow PAL version. Also a good time to finally beat all the extra bosses, we did get the International Version originally but I stopped playing once I beat the main story.

Nope. FFX is easily my favorite FF game.

I love ffX. I HATE ffX-2. If I end up getting this I won't touch it.

FFX is where they started to lose me, honestly. I was like ten or eleven when VIII came out and I loved it...got way into IX as well, and Chrono Cross, but X never grabbed me. PS2 era was where they started to go downhill if you ask me.

Also, the weird Charlie's Angels spinoff pseudo-sequel thing is so dumb it made me angry at that age.

@morningstar: I've been the same way. I've almost popped in my PS2 copy but I keep telling myself to wait, but that was like 2 years ago.

Because many think they were good FF games, me included, and being a member of a video game community, you know that they thought this too.
My my response questions are:

1. Why ask?

2. Why waste your own time posting a purposely negative comment on something that you already knew you disliked? What are you a masochist?

I feel no need to go back, but FFX was the last good Final Fantasy IMO. Only thing that taints it for me are those goddamn ultimate weapon quests. Sure they were optional, but I think dodging lightning bolts and the unforgiving chocobo balloon race left permanent scars on my psyche.

Hopefully this will make people realize that FFX-2 is unironically the best game in the main FF franchise in terms of game play. Man that game was fun. Can't wait to play it again but all pretty like.

You know, for being an early PS2 game, FFX was actually really damn good looking. There are better looking PS2 games released late in that console's cycle, but not many.

plus having to plug in an old SD tv.....i've played PS2 games on an HDTV and it's the worst...it's rather muddy looking

PS2 generation and older do not do well on HDTV's

I put like 15 hours into X and about 2 into X-2. Both of them didn't seem very good.

I've played Dark Cloud 2 on my HDTV and it looked fine. Maybe it would look better on a SDTV, I don't know.

I forgot how annoying the voices were in this game. Thanks trailer, you saved me money.

The graphical updates Square has done for this are really impressive. I wish this kind of work was put into HD remasters of games I actually care about.

FFX has the best battle system out of all Final Fantasy games.

FFX was the last great FF game that kept the spirit/mechanics of the classic versions. I remember that game being so long, with lots of depth and tons of memorable battles.

I wouldn't mind playing FFX again, the game was surprisingly emotional for me at the end and I liked the battle system/sphere grid.

FFX-2 had a seriously goofy idea and plot, but I really liked the dress sphere system a lot too.

FFX-2 is a very divided game. In terms of story and presentation, it's total fluff, but I maintain that the battle system is one of the most mechanically solid that I've ever played.

Considering getting the Vita copy of FFX and trying to finish. Although I'm not sure about this because I stopped playing it on PS2 because of god awful voice acting, which I assumed hasn't changed.

Yeah ... I wish they'd use the much larger storage capacity of modern systems (err, at least the PS3, the most common/affordable Vita memory cards are probably comparable to what you'd be able to fit on a PS2 DVD) and include the original voice tracks.

Can't wait to once again lead Ratchet Tidus and company to victory!

X2 was a magic fucking diamond in the pile of trash that is the last decade of Final Fantasy games, but it was also a product of its time. While I loved it for how un-Final Fantasy it was, I don't think I could go back to it, and I can't see it working any longer.

I replay Final Fantasy X about once every two years. I will get this on both PS3 and Vita. The best Final Fantasy game I've played to date and I will never, ever get bored of it. There is something about that game's story, gameplay, progression, battle system... hell, I even like the voice acting; that hit me when I first played it and I've been driven off of nostalgia ever since, totally loving every consecutive play I do.

This will totally be worth it. I just wish they'd announce a date already.

Yeah seriously, I was excited when I saw this trailer, thought there would be a date attached with it. I guess "this winter" is better than nothing though.

FFX had my favorite JRPG battle system and I was so mad that they immediately dumped it.

Because they're like masterpieces in comparison to the garbage that came after it.

Yes!! I thought I was the only one who thought this was the perfect battle system. Now they have moved completely to the sit and watch the action system instead of the tactical one in X.

@tycobb: I played the demo, which is the opening with Tidus meeting his fans and playing Blitzball. This game has definitely NOT aged well.

Pretty much any line from an NPC is cringeworthy. Combine this with the weird and inappropriate animations and it's painful to watch. That scene where you walk up to the 3 children fans and they awkwardly say "2....3.....TEACH US HOW TO BLITZ" Ugghhh...ghhh..ghhhh.

And seriously there's a mysterious character lurking who whispers "....and so it begins...."

At the time it blew my mind, but time has passed.

besides..if you have played it on an emulator (which legally I have) this isn't really any different....FF7 would be.

A remaster of a ps1 game is pretty pointless. The assets they have to work with would gain nothing from HD. Well, not nothing, but not enough.

never played much of both apart for x-2 a few years ago, did enjoy it somewhat but only for the combat, it made one think of ffv and since this one loves V gogo

Anyone who honestly thinks FFX was the finest the series has to offer should seriously watch Spoony"s reviews of it.

You know, I actually thought FFXII looked amazing graphically for the ps2. Better than FFX even, I'd say.
