C'mon, Alex... fire whale is sooo Dec. 2012.

Edited by CaLe

Why is there no Hind D?

"A Flying Fire Whale?" just doesn't have the same ring to it.

Colonel, what's a flying sea mammal doing here?

2 F-Killer Whales just took off from Galena and are headed your way.

Nah, just not the same.

I'm gonna miss David Hayter :(

The music was perfect for this trailer.

is ground zeros and phantom pain separate games or no?

Edited by alterbridge9

What?!

Edited by GunsAreDrawn

I still don't get if this is the same game as Ground Zeroes or not. Both trailers have featured Big Boss and i'm assuming the guy with the wrap on his face in "The Phantom Pain" trailer was the same guy in Ground Zeroes was burnt to hell.

Kojima is so Konfusing.

@raikoh05: Ground Zeroes and The Phantom Pain are one game - Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain. Apparently Ground Zeroes serves as a prologue at the beginning.

EDIT (3/28): Actually, Konami is now saying that Kojima misspoke during the presentation and that MGS: Ground Zeroes and MGS5: The Phantom Pain are in fact two separate games.

EDIT 2 (3/28): That Konami PR person that said they were two separate games might have been misinformed, so basically I have no clue if they'll be sold as separate games or together as one game.

This also has fire horse and quite a couple of new things.

I'm so hyped for this -_-

People can't even grasp a title change/combination?

No wonder you all hated MGS2.

Posted by Roomrunner

So, Ground Zeroes was just a working title?

Posted by chrisbeaumont

In the battle of the trailers, MGSV knocks BF4's teeth into the middle of next week.

Yeah, Ground Zeroes exists, it's just it's a prologue mission within the full MGSV Phantom Pain game, most likely similar to, say, The Tanker mission in MGS2.

Game looks beautiful and I can't wait to play it!

Edited by TepidShark

Nice use of the band Garbage in this trailer.

Yep, MY BODY IS READY!

Posted by LiquidPrince

What event made them reveal that it was MGS5?

also, @ghostytrickster: who said that Hayter wasn't voicing him?

Do they really have to spell it out exactly for you?

The story will probably be complete BS, but still excited to play.

seems awesome, though i have no idea what happens in 4. i hear it gets wacky mooing robots and all that

Edited by Yummylee

Also, Alex posted this in the wrong MGS5 page :P Least I assume we'll be sticking with this one. It's already got the other trailers up there.

@liquidprince: David Hayter's Twitter account. Konami didn't even ask him to voice.

Though that could always be just what they want us to think! #Kojimatrails

@ghostytrickster: Game's timeline is all over the place, from 70s to 80s.

He'll be in as a young Solid Snake. The ruse is not yet over. This trickery is rivaling MGS2.

Master Miller?!

So my guess would be post MG1/2 Pre MGS Big Boss in a coma relieving altered memories from his past (The Boss' Horse, the burning figure in Big Boss' sneaking suit (he is burnt to death in the MSX game) Possibly in the interim years between MG1 and 1 with Big Boss rebuilding his fortress. and forming his close bond with Master Miller (would explain how liquid was so easily able to kill him if he looks like BB's son.

@roomrunner: yup, it also gave room for their viral marketing plan which if you ask me served them pretty well.

Edited by Christoffer

Let me guess. BF4 shows a beautiful trailer and people can't wait to complain about the lack of freedom. MGS shows a beautiful trailer and people can't wait to praise everything.

Yup, expectations at play.

Metal Gear Solid and the character of Solid Snake (played by Hayter) are a large part of why I became the game enthusiast I am. That said, the quality of voice actors in many modern games have outstripped Hayter for a long time now. He is iconic as Snake, sure, but he's not a very good voice actor. I say that with love.

Posted by betterinsodapop

That's no fire horse. That's clearly a flaming pegasus/unicorn hybrid! XD

Posted by SpiderJerusalem

Wait, Big Boss has a horn on his forehead?

This is Kojimaest trailer I've ever seen. Hell, it's like the Sgt. Pepper's of Kojima trailers.

Edited by dr_mantas

Oh, Kojima, I bow to thee, master of thine craft.

Thought I would watch maybe a minute of this, stayed for the whole amazing trailer.

And the music...

God DAMN.

For everyone wondering this is the big boss mgs3/peace walker timeline not the 1,2 and 4 stuff.

Posted by SolongWrex

Oh Kojima. Never change.

Posted by Tajasaurus

That song is rad and it's the thing I care about the most.

Posted by Crunchman

Kojima played Deadly Premonition.

You hear that, Zach?

Edited by Castiel

Well if this is how current gen games look like what the hell do we need next generation for?

You don't actually have to answer.

Edited by Hassun

Good old Kojima, ramping up the insanity again.

What is horn

Posted by Humanity

I don't get it, but I want to play it.

Posted by Lego_My_Eggo

Yes Kojima i riked it, i riked it alot!

Edited by Pr1mus

I don't like the voice at the end. At least not if it's supposed to be Snake. I get that David Hayter isn't coming back but they could have found someone who sounded closer and older. Big Boss is what, late 50s by that point, maybe even 60s.

Edit: It sounds a lot like the guy who does the cockney voice in Saints Row The Third. The sound of the voice at least.

"THERE THEY GO, WHAT A SHOW, SMOKING UP THEY SKY YEAH!"

The guy talking at the end is miller

Yeah, that's Robin Atkin Downes. He's carrying on the role of Master Miller from Peace Walker. You do hear a bit of this new Snake during an additional gameplay trailer, though. That is of course is this'll truly be permanent. It could be a placeholder, or they could just be setting up the possibility of David voicing Solid Snake as he stars on screen alongside Big Boss.
