Here's the BioShock Infinite Launch Trailer You Probably Assumed Was Coming

@jackel2072@gardenstateapologist After 4 hours with the game I totally agree with Sess so far. Transcendent piece of media. It's every bit as powerful as Bioshock, but instead of feeling like the combat is a thing to have to deal with to see the story I actually look forward to it. Aside from Half-Life 2, I can't think of another shooter that has held me in its thrall quite like this one has.

Only nitpick that I have so far is that I like Andrew Ryan better than Zachary Comstock. It isn't that Comstock is a bad character, quite the contrary, but I don't think it'll be possible to craft a villain that is at once as charming and menacing as Ryan.

Elizabeth's character animation is so great!

Can´t help but the male dude sounds like Brad Shoemaker.

I wouldn't call it insecurity. A lot of the top review outlets have nothing but praise for this game, it could've gone differently. I think it's alright for them to boast a little bit.

Talk about insecurity.. This isn't a launch trailer it's a slideshow of internet review headers about your game.

i'm only aware of the skeletal framework, and that's passing at best.

i MAY have gotten spoiled on the ending (thank you youtube), but it's such a general spoiler if it is one that it doesn't make much of a difference to me.

jeff's latest tweet about it is also fucking encouraging as fuck. it's nice to know that even him (jaded as he is) can be moved/wowed by it.

Looks like they're using the old version of Elizabeth in a couple parts of that trailer. Either that or she gets a dramatic makeover during the course of the story.

@jesterpc238: TT I had that precise reaction in re if this was anyone but Sessler. That was quite honestly the most effusive review I've ever witnessed. Eloquent and precisely articulated, as you'd expect from the man, but goddamn if I didn't almost burst out laughing a couple times when we got a brief respite via his patented earnest eyes before the lavishing began anew. But hey, I generally share his exact tastes, and Infinite seems to revolve exclusively around stuff that fascinates me, so I'm willing to buy in.

I'll skip this video. I've been on a strict media blackout ever since I watched the first trailer. Why break it 3 hours before the game unlocks on Steam?

Oh, I didn't mention that the trailer made me impossibly excited. These next couple days until I get the game are gonna be hard.

I'll be glad when the game finally comes out and people play it, so I can stop seeing people say this game is shit before having played it or that you shouldn't be excited because there's too much hype that it can't deliver on, or whatever BS. Honestly, can we all as a collective enthusiast crowd just be excited for a game without being a cynical, elitist asshole.

Just to be clear, I'm not calling anyone out here. I'm just referring to Assholes across the Internet.

Its funny that Dishonored did more to sell me on Bioshock Infinite than any of these trailers.

Man I hope they make a sequel to Dishonored.

Imma be real with you guys. I expect the triumphant return of video reviews for this one. Anything less will disappoint me since we already know the game is getting 5 stars.

This trailer is even better than the last one and I didn't think that was possible!

@bbqbram: They just got back from PAX East, so at the earliest, it'll be up this afternoon unless they already recorded it. They're probably under embargo for video coverage too, so might not go up until tomorrow.

Oh? Was it always supposed to look... cartoonish? I don't mind, I just always thought they were going for realistic graphics, since Bioshock 1 was kinda realistic looking.

@jesterpc238: i really enjoyed that review as well. it's kind of funny but weather or not anyone agrees with his review it shows what games can do to people. i mean you can tell he is trying so hard not to let his excitement for the game over whelm him. and again regardless if this game "deserves" all its praise is irrelevant. its cool to see a person get that excited over something and is kind of telling why we all love games so much.

I was expecting some positive reviews, but so far it's gone beyond just that.

Adam Sessler gave probably the most positive review of a game I've ever seen. In fact if it hadn't been him I'd probably have dismissed it as hyperbolic drivel. Can't wait until tomorrow.

@trilogy: Even something as content-heavy as TOR only cost around $50 and as far as I've read had similarly sized teams and dev cycles. So it's probably somewhere between 40 and 65 or so mil.
