Here's a Brief Look at Medal of Honor: Warfighter's Story

This game will be more awesome than Hour of Victory.

I originally posted the following paragraph regarding Battlefield 3 over 18 months ago. But it's applicable to everyother FPS coming out these days.

Warfighter is gonna be even more MODERNER than Modern Warfare. It's gonna be ultra-hyper fucking real warfare. Sickest, unrealist combat ever, shoot the darkest brown skinned mofo's in the face, and I mean seriously fucking dark people. Illest shit to come out on the sexbox sex sexty. In Warfighter terrorists have kidnapped the US presidents and are threatening to bum rape him if you don't switch off your xbox right now, they'll do it, so you'll have to be ultra bad ass to save his ass.... literally. GOTY Gametrailers every category.

Based on this, the hospital scenes and fever dreams look like a more fun experience than the actual "warfighting". A shell-shocked soldier in a hospital of nightmares seems like a way more compelling game.

Not sure if I should get this. Do you guys think you have to shoot dudes in this?

Count me in as one of the few that enjoyed Medal of Honor, and this one looks really great as well. Yes there wasn't gameplay in the trailer, but we have already gotten some gameplay trailers. Based on the gameplay of the previous one, and the frostbite engine which I love, I can't wait.

I wonder if anyone will actually receive the Medal of Honor in this game.

@Forkstik No where in that video did I see anything to indicate that it was implying that ALL Arab/Muslims were terrorist. Not directed at you, but that kind of collectivist thinking is exactly what racists do.

Looks pretty good to me, liked the characters in the first game and the tone -So many negative comments though, why not have a backstory for the characters? Its no less cheesy than the 'Murica Assassins creed 3 trailer, but you feel the need to turn your noses up at it because its a shooter? Ridiculous

I know Warfighter is an actual term, but it is still a stupid title for a video game. I am looking forward to the sequel Medal of Honor: Gun Shooter.

I don't usually comment on these things but can i just cay to the people that get "angry" about the same type of game coming out. You don't have to play it but some people will. Just like the next movie with that actor you don't like, you don't have to watch it but some people will. The fact that people complain about this shit is astonishing. You probably have a console with lots of games, a flat screen tv to play em on, a smart phone to play em on, a pc to play em on...you have all this shit and you still complain...its incredible to me. Think of the people that don't have any of these things. The game you don't like isn't for you its for other people. I'm not defending COD or Battlefield or any other modern shooter, I agree they aren't that good any more, so what...move on.

Remember when FPS developers used to make up new worlds, interesting enemies and cool weapons when designing their games? Now, there are literally a dozen companies making games with the same weapons, vehicles, multiplayer modes, settings and characters/enemies. And modern multiplayer sucks compared to the hyper-fast skill based stuff of yesteryear - how is removing elements like powerups supposed to make games MORE advanced?

Fuck all this shit. All the good shooters are F2P, or indie. Like Team Fortress 2, or Xonotic, Tribes: Ascend, Section 8 Prejudice and Super Monday Night Combat. But this bullshit and whatever is the yearly Call of Duty installment, and the ensuing "online passes" and DLC packs...they're going to sell such huge numbers. I don't know who those gamers are, buying all that shit, but I fucking hate them.

At least Dishonored is coming out this year. Still, I'm so fucking angry that shit like this will be the game making headlines later this year for selling "8 million copies in a week" or some garbage, when there are far better games out there, and far better studios who are getting shut down because they *only* manage to make a game that *only* sells a million copies.

Because if anything can make the MOH franchise relevant, it is making the main character have a family and suffer even though we don't care about that except his ability to kick ass. This goes out to Sam Fisher too. We don't care about your daughter. We just want to see you hide in the shadows, break necks and say cool things in Michael Ironside's voice.

ugh, EA you are a bunch of retards, making a game that no one wants. And to put "battlefield 4 beta" right on the front? On THE DAMN FRONT OF THE FUCKING BOX? Thats just desperate EA. Go back in the hole where you came from and make Freedom Fighters 2. That will be all.

If the negative comments surrounding FPS could build a game it would be awesome. Unfortuantly we are left with a bunch of no talents. 
Luckily there are a lot of talented people MAKING games and generating fun experiences. Bring it on!

Well this didn´t look that bad. I´m intrigued.

Okay, so there's this guy, who's a normal guy, but then something bad like, happens to him, so he decides to fight, because bad guys need the shooting done to them. Oscar material right there, guys.

After Spec Ops I'm even more critical on military shooters. You can be so much better with your story!

I actually really like military FPSes, but the last Medal of Honor absolutely did not do it for me. Thought it was one of the more boring, clunky shooters I've played in a while. Story wasn't interesting either. However, on the bright side, at least they did shamelessly rip off Modern Warfare's story like Battlefield 3 did. That was just pathetic.

Though the family angle could be interesting, something about this still doesn't click for me.

It looks nice and a score that sounds like batman's gets a thumbs up from me.

I may be an idiot and an optimist, but if this game can pull off the story of a professional soldier falling apart that it seems like it wants to, then this could be incredible. If they can manage to convey the same sort of psychological breakdown as SpecOps, with tight game-play and a compelling story, this could be something important.

I enjoy a good modern military shooter every now and then as well, but too much of a good thing can indeed be a bad thing. And there is most certainly genre fatigue in the FPS genre in general, not just the modern military type.

All developers and publishers want to make good games and make money for their business so they shouldn't be vilified for making games that are in the same genre.

Where did I establish that logic? That developers should leave a genre alone if someone else does it best? I said people should stop chasing Call Of Duty with their own rendition of modern military shooter because it's an overpopulated genre that people are sick of and can do without imitators. People are pouring time and resources into something we have experienced multiple times a year, not just gameplay wise, but setting and theme. Look down the iron sights and kill a dude and shout "tango down." Platformers aren't all about fat plumbers and jumping on enemies to kill them. Mario, Limob, Fez, Braid, while all classified as platformer/puzzle games, are all distinctly different in theme, setting, characters, and all have different gameplay mechanics. While you look at Battlefield, Medal of Honor, and Call Of Duty and the only difference is that one moves faster or one has vehicles and supports more players and looks prettier. You're still looking down iron sights and shooting dudes.

@Blister: Well yea, but saying one publisher does one type of a game the best and other publishers shouldn't even try to make a the same type of game because we don't need it doesn't make sense to me.

Don't get me wrong i want developers to try new things and make new games but i don't think EA or anyone else is the devil because they make modern FPS thats all.

A lot of people think that Activision should scrap the CoD series, doesn't mean that it's gonna happen. I don't think Activision should scrap the CoD series, but I think other developers should stop trying to chase it and emulate it.

We've had plenty of "solid" shooters. People are just tired of shooter games, solid or not. The genre's been oversaturated with modern military jargon. And that "heavy tone" is just an excuse to blow shit up and shoot middle easterner while being able to claim "we have a deep and emotional backdrop!"

When will all this war porn stop existing in modern shooters? Can we get back to something clever and something that doesn't rely on shitty Hollywood scripts about the troubled war vet? All these publishers are glorifying middle east war vets, downplaying their mental issues by showing them as some loner out to exact revenge on doing suicidal actions, and making them out to be crazy, reckless, dangerous, scared people. I've tolerated it/ignored it for a very long time, but this shit needs to go away. It's boring, somewhat offensive, cliche, cheap, easy, overdone, and almost universally stupid. I'm getting really tired of all big name FPS titles doing this bullshit. Not everyone out there is some pimple faced, foul mouthed 13 year old kid (I've earned the right to be foul mouthed, 13 year old kids say some very sick stuff on XBL) that likes to sit inside all day and act like they are some badass sniper. Some of us want to play good shooters, but don't want to be cast as some PTSD suffering veteran that can't relate to their friends or love their children. Stop. Just fucking stop.
