Here's a Look at the Story in Dishonored

You know what would be cool? If this was set in the future. And called Prey 2.

Christ it gets annoying that people can't tell the difference between Bethesda Game Studios, makers of Skyrim, and Bethesda, a publishing company that did not make Brink, Rogue Warrior, or Wet, and isn't making Prey 2 or Dishonored.

Arkane Studios is making the game, Bethesda is just the publisher. Not complicated, and yet...

FWIW, the setting and powers look interesting, wonder what the gameplay will be like.

This um, this is fucking amazing. Probably won't play anything like the trailer, it's just too good... which at the very least, this trailer tells me we need the next generation of consoles to come as quickly as possible to play games like this trailer.

I couldn't get into the AC games because I didn't feel any knee-jerk hatred for the wealthy elites. I can't help but suspect that I'd feel the same way in this game, based on this trailer.

Having played a bunch of ME3 recently, it's real weird hearing Liara talk in the first few seconds.

Finally, a game where you can control rats! Wish fulfilled.

i still for like the first 30 seconds thought i was watching a dlc trailer for skyrim , i was so got dam excited for the prospect of skyrim dlc i didnt even look at the title........ anyways, looks awesome!!!!

Show me actual in-game footage, then I'll be excited.

Actually, yeah I was thinking more assasin's creed, although I suppose it has components of a lot of games...

I'm not really digging the vibe i'm getting from this, a bit too many borrowed pieces... Some interesting art, but I think voice acting was way too affected and theatrical, corny is understating.

And "vengeance solves everything" tagline? what a juvenile crowdpleaser. Slightly hilarious that it comes up right after the dude claims killing him won't solve anything. But I dont think it was their intention to be funny.

I've made a habit of not trusting bethesda as a publisher or developer anymore, and arkane hasn't done anything breathtaking either... sooo.... im very lukewarm about this.

*edit BTW to all of those with doubts, this is a FPS, Arkane only does FPSs. (I mean you look from first person, not to get boggled on technicalities, it might have RPG elements and stealth action, but from a FIRST PERSON perspective, catch? -also there's rarely any true first person shooters today if we do want to get all argumentative-)

Hey guys remember Brink.

No gameplay or explanation of wtf the mechanics are. Can't even tell if it's first or third person. I can only assume they will use the engine Brink used for traversal but I guess we'll have to wait months for a real trailer.

Hopefully this is more of a Fallout/TES Bethesda game and not WET/Rogue Warrior/Brink Bethesda game.....

@JauntyHat: The guy who concepted City 17 and I assume a bunch of HL2 stuff, Viktor Antonov , has been working on this since day one, which is part of the reason I'm so excited to see the world in action.

The other reason being few studios do first-person badassery as well as Arkane(see both Dark Messiah and Arx Fatalis for proof of that).

If by shooter you mean then no Arkane have never made a shooter, as far as I know. They made first-person action RPGs like Dark Messiah and Arx Fatalis. And if the designers are to be believed, you can beat this game without using a gun or killing anyone that isn't your target. It's a lot more in the vein of Deus Ex and Thief.

finally, something refreshing. nice to see someone is trying to break the mold,. Now the wait begins for gameplay footage.....
