Video game sports still look like so stiff. They move their hands as if they couldnt be animated. You can do everything to facial features, but you can't make a hand work correctly?

Something seems off about the movement, it's like everything is moving through a very soft goo.

Did anyone else feel like the controls for PS4 2K14 were a bit loosey goosey? That left analogue stick just makes them bobble about a bit too much imho.

Chris Andersen is a nobody at this point (Blinn JC represent!) and he still gets that amount of detail? Jesus, I can only wonder nfl 2k15 would have looked like.

Am I the only one thats a little worried about how little 2k has talked about the my career mode in ether WWE or NBA. For my money there the most interesting parts but no one ever seems to talk about them till the games out the door already.

I expect the next GDC and Siggraph conferences to be filled with sessions like Sportscaster Rendering 2014: What went wrong. I look forward to other sports titles this year stepping up their game after what Madden and NBA 2K15 have brought to the table. Don Cherry's suits already look like someone miss-assigned the texture, add that dead stare paired with the ackward flapping puppet mouth and it will be perfect.

What's funny about that is, I guarantee that 2K approached Charles Barkley about being in the game and he turned it down. Charles has some thing against video games these days for some reason.

Probably not but I found default settings in 2k14 to be a lot better than 2k13. My biggest problem is still with some of the dumb bugs/cheesy shit still in the game (the number of kicked ball violations, how shooting animations take so long that dudes like eric gordon, who should be able to shoot ok, get blocked all the time, how defenders can "cheat" and get beaten and recover into the play really quickly, how by default the defense will sag off really good shooters for no reason, how easy the post game is (give a center finisher+90 shoot in traffic and you don't have to even try, how those with slower speed can keep up on the fast break). But I guess if the only real problems I have with the game are nitpicky problems 2k is on the right track, I still think they put out the highest quality sports games of any sport, the graphics are nice and their myplayer mode is the best career mode in any sports games.

Giving PC players everything is nice but it remains to be seen if they'll release patches for the game, the past couple games the PC received none of the patches which means there's still some bugs eradicted in other versions of the game still present in the PC version. Still, if it's full-featured and they're retailing it for 60 dollars hopefully they feel like they have to patch the game since it is supposedly "on par" with the console versions and being sold for as much.

@hustlerlt: I agree but Shaq is probably more recognizable to the casual fan/general public so getting him makes sense, plus maybe they tried and he said no or wanted more money or something. Getting any of the commentators is weird cause they're not with the NBAPA anymore so they have to get their likenesses licensed individually.

Despite the graphical improvements of Madden 15, it looks like NBA 2K series still leads the charge in current-gen graphic quality in sports games.

This will probably be the best basketball game yet. But I can't help being disappointed. When the switch from PS2/Xbox to PS3/360 happened the graphical improvements were still mindblowing (remember that sweat tech?), just like PS1 to PS2 and 16- to 32-bit. We're getting some severe diminishing returns. Which doesn't matter for videogames in general, there's still a lot of room for innovation and new ideas, but with sports and racing games there doesn't seem to be a lot left to do.

Put sunglasses on all of them and they would look real. That's the one area that they will never get right. The death stare.

I think it's just part of a calculated "wanting to look edgy, but not really" move.

Nice touch adding the crowd "threeeee!" chant when the home team shoots a three. Now they just need to add audible gasps/shouts of horror when the away team shoots a wide open three during a close game.

The end bit was funny, but I've seen more lifelike movements in a Showbiz Pizza Rock-A-Fire show.

Hey, uhh, sports game devs/people curating the soundtracks? If a song needs every three words and every other entire line cut out, maybe don't use that song? I love Suck My Kiss, but that just left me completely distracted as I listened to the song being butchered. Might as well have used Sir Psycho Sexy, for crying out loud.

I did get a legitimately good laugh out of "YAKKEM", though.

Hyped. Can't wait for basketball to start again.

The player likeness stuff is all well and good (uncanny valley aside) but my interest in 2K15 depends on how they handle the different modes and virtual currency balancing. Was not really into the foundation they laid out last year, tried playing some MyGM the other day and was reminded how cumbersome and limiting it was.

Anyone heard from Gigu? She and Shaq still together?

@walkertr77: there is something about the faces in this game...most are pretty good but some look super lifeless..ive never had the patience to try and learn these games, so many goddamn controls! I wish sports games werent so complex to play lol game still looks pretty nice overall tho

Anyone else noticing really bad framewrate in these videos? I remember GB has always had 60 FPS but recently a lot of their videos play a lot slower than that.
