Here's The Mass Effect 3 "Take Back Earth" Extended Cut

how did we go from Mass Effect 1 to Independence Day II? Seriously guys urban cityscapes getting trashed by aliens is so 1990s. And the editing and closeup shots of the kids feels like a terrible AT&T commercial.

They could have taken Mass Effect and the Reapers in the direction of something like Joe Haldeman's Forever War or even a Heinlein story. Instead we get something that's starting to look like gritty urban more-modern-er warefare-ier with all of the exploration and abstract ideas gutted out. Prove Me Wrong Bioware. Please.

I loved the last two Mass e+Effect games. Playing them back to back for the first time when Mass Effect 2 came out was probably one of the most fun I've had with games in a long time. But the way they are marketing this makes me scared. Don't get me wrong, I'm excited as hell, but Earth is probably the least appealing thing about a game where you explore different planets and alien species. Also why are all the reavers after Earth? is it going to be some halo 3 type artifact? If so that's pretty lame. Please don't be like Dragon Age 2

@tourgen: Indeed. Call me crazy but the dramatic space politics of the original were actually really interesting. They had created such a lush world for us to play in, and in Mass Effect 2 threw it by the way side. All that set up in the original seems to have been squandered...

I liked Mass Effect 2, but I think Mass Effect 1 is markedly better. (I play the PC version)

From the demo, I was really hoping that little boy was going to be a representation of Shepard's fear and insecurity, that Bioware was going to add a psychological depth to the character. Nope, he done blowed up.

I... think I need to replay 2 so I can make sure I didn't cheat on Ashley. I don't *think* my renegade did, but I must be sure.

This is purely hypothetical, but if this would happen this would be an extinction event, and if humanity survived the ones who would survive would show traits leaning towards aggressiveness and a good physique.

So basically the Reapers turn humanity into a race of super-soldiers.

And the scientists probably all die.

If this was a trailer for a movie, I wouldn't go see it. This looks like Skyline. The imagery is the most boring well worn bullshit, and while I understand trying to sell the franchise to the bigger numbers they haven't yet reached, it sucks that they had to use the defend earth thing to get there. Who gives a fuck about Earth in Mass Effect? You never went to earth! The closest you ever got was you could land on the moon.

This was good, but you want to know what I would like to see next? Gameplay footage of Commander Shepard in a tense dialogue sequence and "charisma-ing" his way out of a fight in a side mission.

That would be awesome to see.

I was thinking that while playing the demo as well, still haven't played ME1 or 2, and almost rolled my eyes at their attempts at "emotional impact".

Uncanny valley children are more terrifying than Reapers. Regardless, can't wait.

Also, I'm glad they have a ground force to take down those husk slaves. But they should really do something about those couple million sentient death skyscrapers.

But the Bioware name has been dragged through the mud over the past year by the Internet Hate Machine, and EA has very high sales expectations after investing so much into these projects. It seems like everyone has their arms crossed, waiting to see if this game "redeems" Bioware's image or wrecks the company. It feels like really high stakes.

Great Trailer, I remember in 1 you could visit earth because of massive amounts of space junk orbiting the planet, wonder if they will adress that.

If I am forced to have Ashley in my crew for this final mission then I am going to have to turn on the option to keep party member helmets on at all times since that hair is RIDICULOUS looking.

The Reapers are starting their invasion on Earth because Shepard, the only person awesome enough to be seen as a threat to the Reapers, is a human. The human home world is Earth. Hence they start with the humans and their home world of Earth.

@Bourbon_Warrior: You couldn't visit Earth because the story didn't need you to. The space debris doesn't stop you from visiting, it just means that the use of kinetic barriers is recommended at high altitudes.

@DonChipotle: Also, Earth is kind of on the way to the Citadel from where the Reapers enter the galaxy (based on the Arrival DLC).
